Great lords will have much, and poor folk can give but little.

When Princes and Prelates
When Princes and Prelates and het-headed zealots
All Europe hae set in a lowe,
The poor man lies down, nor envies a crown,
And comforts himsel with a mowe.—
And why shouldna poor folk mowe, mowe, mowe,
And why shouldna poor folk mowe:
The great folk hae siller, and houses and lands,
Poor bodies hae naething but mowe.—
When Brunswick's great Prince cam a cruising to France
Republican billies to cowe,
Bauld Brunswick's great Prince wad hae shawn better sense
At hame with his Princess to mowe.—
And why shouldna, &c.
Out over the Rhine proud Prussia wad shine,
To spend his best blood he did vow;
But Frederic had better ne'er forded the water,
But spent as he docht in a mowe.—
And why, &c.—
By sea and by shore! the Emperor swore,
In Paris he'd kick up a row;
But Paris saw ready just leugh at the laddie
And bad him gae tak a mowe.—
And why, &c.—
And Kate laid her claws on poor Stanislaus,
And Poland has bent like a bow:
May the deil in her arse ram a huge prick of brass!
And damn her in hell with a mowe!
And why, &c.—
But truce with commotions and new-fangled notions,
A bumper I trust you'll allow:
Here's George our gude king and Charlotte his queen,
And lang may they tak a gude mowe!

Anton Martin Schweigaard (In The Church After The Funeral Oration)
Give us, God, to Thee now turning,
Fullness of joy, tears full and burning,
Of will the full refining fire!
Hear our prayer o'er his inurning:
His will was
one
, the whole discerning,
His whole soul would to it aspire.
Yes; give us yet again,
With power to lead, great men,-
Power in counsel our folk to lead,
Our folk in deed,
Our folk in gladness and in need!
Thou, O God, our want preventest;
To raise the temple
him
Thou lentest,
A spirit bright and pure and great.
When Thou from time to call him meantest,
Her tender soul to him Thou sentest
Who went before to heaven's gate.
When Thou didst set him free,
An epoch ceased to be.
Men then marveled, the while they said:
'Living and dead,
O'er all our land he beauty spread.'
Help us, God, to wiser waring,
When to our land Thou light art bearing,
That we Thy dayspring then may know.
God, our future Thou'rt preparing,
Oh, give us longing, honor's daring,
That we the great may not forego!
Thou sentest many out,-
Cease not, our God, nor doubt!
Let us follow Thy way, Thy call,
Men, words, and all!
Thy mercies shall our North enwall!

Simple Folk
We gaze in wide wonder,
Eyes open & fluttering
While we mere simple folk
Contemplate what it is you beautiful people do
Atop that great mountain of yours.
Please, send us scraps, tidbits and more
Oh great ones!
Have sympathy on our poor souls.

The Battle Is The Lords
Written by michael mckay
There is no pain jesus cant feel
No hurt he can not heal
All things work according to his perfect will
No matter what youre going through
Remember God is using you
For the battle is not yours
Its the lords
Theres no sadness jesus cant feel
And there is no sorrow
That he can not heal
For all things work
According to the masters holy will
No matter what youre going through
Remember that God is only using you
For the battle is not yours
Its the lords
Its the lords
Yes its the lords
Hold your head up high
Dont you fright
Its the lords
Its the lords
Yes its the lords
No matter what
Youre going through
Remember that god
Only wants to use you
For the battle is not yours
Its the lords
No matter what
You happen to go through right now
Remember that in the midst of it all
God only wants to use you
No matter what youre going through
For the battle is not yours
Its the lords
No matter what it is
That youre going through
Hold your head up, stick your chest out
And remember hes using you
No matter what youre going through
God is only using you
For this battle is not yours alone
This battle is not yours, no
You can not handle it all by yourself
No, no, no, no, no, no
Its not yours
This battle is not yours
Its the lords, not yours
This battle is not yours
The lord is the only one who can fight it
He wants to use you as his vessel
So be open to him
Its not yours
No its not yours
Its the lords, not yours
The battle is not yours
Its the lords
Hallelujah
Yeah!

Lords Of The Ring
Written by dennis deyoung
Lead vocals by james young
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the music in their story
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the lands of ancient glory
In the year of the lords
The message came from above
The heavens opened with their mighty sound
That shook the people in the town
And so we came from everywhere
The young and old the rich and poor
To hear the legend of the magic ring
And of the powers it could bring, they sing
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the music in their story
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery it brings
May we someday wear its glory
And now the message is clear
For I became a lord this year
And though the legend was pure fantasy
We still need the hope it brings, so lets sing
All hail to the lords of the ring
To believe is a wonderous thing
May we always sing their glory
All hail to the lords of the ring
To the magic and mystery they bring
To the promise of their story

Sob Story
Give me your poor.
Give me your self righteous.
Give me your...
'The poor?
Self righteous?
I've never known the poor to be self righteous.'
There has been a new category added,
To include those now claiming...
To be amongst those the most in need.
'I see.
So does that mean,
The ones historically disadvantaged...
Are pushed even further back,
On your list of priorities? '
Hey,
Whatever works.
And they have promised to deliver us 'perks'
IF and WHEN the current crisis turns around.
'I see.
So...
You are getting paid for your deeds,
To announce their current dilemma? '
Yes.
A fool I am not.
I've got empty pockets I wish to see filled too.
Give me your poor.
Give me your self righteous.
Give me your homeless and destitute.
Give me your most believed desperate situation.
Give me any sob story at all...
And I'll add your claims to my pity party list.
No one will be refused.
However...
Be creative in the telling of it.

They All Give The Light
Once upon a time
at a very far away
folk music concert
two American
folk singers claimed
and proclaimed
a revelation
concerning the lights
givers of light
One singer said
“Do you see the lights”
“This one is Christianity”
“That one is Islam”
“That one is Hinduism”
“That one is Buddhism”
They are all different
but they all give...
the same light...
Really?
What about blown bulbs?
When one bulb is blown?
Are all the bulbs blown?
They all give the same light?
A modern western folk revelation?
Is it really all the same light?
Or different sources of light?

Angels
angels are all around, at times they are on the ground
to them there are no barriers for they are the lords carriers.
just like mail carriers here on earth.
they carry the lords words to the priests, kings and the poor.
the lord is word-forever more.
they touch even the coldest of hearts then they could get a new start.
they sometimes walk the earth, just as we.
touch us with their hearts, and change our destinies.
at times we feel; their presence all around-and yet.
we do not hear a sound.
we know that god has given all of us guardian angels
they watch us, and guide us, and strengthen us
in our hours of weakness.
when a person walks away from a crash
it is because they were there in a flash.
we must give thanks to the angels up above
for their presence and their love.

I Go For Simplicity My Friend
i go for simplicity my friend
because i am poor
i do not go for sophistication
because i am poor
i do not complicate matters
because i am poor
i do not want you to misunderstand
because i am poor
i do not want you to think some more
because i am poor
i do not want to convince you
because i am poor
i do not want you to be with our side
because we are poor
i want all things in their simplified forms
because we cannot afford
any other form of convolutions
we cannot afford another revolution
it will be expensive
and we have no more years to give
to pay for the sponsors

Great Grandma
Great Grandma married Great Grandpa
poor Irish girl and poor Indian man
Great Grandma
used to get beat by Great Grandpa's mom
Great Great Grandma
because Great Great Grandma only spoke an Indian
language and not English.
She got hit by a train.
Lots of us Indians got hit by trains in one way
or another, but this was
literal and not metaphor.

There are three bad neighbours: great rivers, great lords, and great roads.
Lords Glory
clap your hands and praise the lord
clap your hands and sing a song.
give thanks and praise to the one above
he has given and shown us love.
when we are down and out
he picks us up and makes us shout.
all that he asks is that we praise his name
and the change in our lives will never be the same
give of yourself all that you can give
for a better life to live.
we must live in a world where there is no fear
and the lords word is everywhere.
where people learn to respect, instead of neglect
all that god created.
this is the way it was meant to be
to live with respect and dignity.
we must praise the lords glory
and spread the word of his story.

The Scarlet Letter
My dear Earth,
please do not get surprised after you receiving this letter,
and do not chew or swallow it as you do to the human beings.
please do not get angry with me.
May I ask some questions?
Why you grant premises to the culprits, murderers and liars
to sleep with innocents, saints and gods together.
You give enough space to the rich to build their skyscrapers;
but not an inch to poor who wander around the world.
You never give them to build a hut even.
You are proud of your soil hiding precious stones, gold, diamond
and silver et cetera.,
You allow poor people to dig them and worship the lords and knights
to wear them on their heads and backs.
I am waiting for a reply soon.
Sincerely yours, I remain Madam, a Man.
A white crow brought the letter wrapped in a snake skin.
I opened it and a single line appeared
written in blood.
is poverty God's will?

Hide Away Folk Family
Hide away folk family
Or else someones gonna get ya (someones gonna get ya)
Someones gonna get ya
Hide away folk family
Better hide away
Better hide away
Tippy-toe to the front door, mother,
cause theres a guy with a long, long fuse
And the one thing you cant hide is all the fear you feel inside
As the fuse is spelling out these words
Hide away folk family
Or else someones gonna get ya (someones gonna get ya)
Someones gonna get ya
Hide away folk family
Better hide away
Better hide away
Tippy-toe to the flat-bed, father,
Because theyre pouring out our gasoline
And sadly the cross-eyed bears been put to sleep behind the stairs
And his shoes are laced with irony
Hide away folk family
Or else someones gonna get ya (someones gonna get ya)
Someones gonna get ya
Hide away folk family
Better hide away
Better hide away
Hello. this is leslie down with the daily home astrology report.

Hunting Song
Waken, lords and ladies gay,
On the mountain dawns the day;
All the jolly chase is here
With hawk and horse and hunting-spear,
Hounds are in their couples yelling,
Hawks are whistling, horns are knelling,
Merrily, merrily mingle they
Waken, lords and ladies gay.
Waken, lords and ladies gay,
The mist has left the mountain gray;
Springlets in the dawn are steaming,
Diamonds on the brake are gleaming;
And foresters have busy been
To track the buck in thicket green;
Now we come to chant our lay,
Waken, lords and ladies gay.
Waken, lords and ladies gay,
To the greenwood haste away;
We can show you where he lies,
Fleet of foot and tall of size;
We can show the marks he made
When 'gainst the oak his antlers fray'd;
You shall see him brought to bay
Waken, lords and ladies gay.
Louder, louder chant the lay,
Waken, lords and ladies gay!
Tell them youth and mirth and glee
Run a course as well as we;
Time, stern huntsman! who can balk,
Staunch as hound and fleet as hawk:
Think of this, and rise with day,
Gentle lords and ladies gay!

Cotton and Corn
Said Cotton to Corn, t'other day,
As they met and exchang'd salute--
(Squire Corn in his carriage so gay,
Poor Cotton, half famish'd on foot):
"Great Squire, if it isn't uncivil
To hint at starvation before you,
Look down on a poor hungry devil,
And give him some bread, I implore you!"
Quoth Corn, then, in answer to Cotton,
Perceiving he meant to make free --
"Low fellow, you've surely forgotten
The distance between you and me!
To expect that we, Peers of high birth,
Should waste our illustrious acres,
For no other purpose on earth
Than to fatten curst calico-makers! --
That Biships to hobbins should bend --
Should stoop from their Bench's sublimity,
Great dealers in lawn, to befriend
Such contemptible dealers in dimity!
"No -- vile Manufacture! ne'er harbour
A hope to be fed at our boards; --
Base offspring of Arkwright the barber,
What claim canst thou have upon Lords?
"No -- thanks to the taxes and debt,
And the triumph of paper o'er guineas,
Our race of Lord Jemmys, as yet,
May defy your whole rabble of Jennys!"
So saying -- whip, crack and away
Went Corn in his chaise through the throng,
So headlong, I heard them all say,
"Squire Corn would be down, before long."

A Hero
He was so foolish, the poor lad,
He made superior people smile
Who knew not of the wings he had
Budding and growing all the while;
Nor that the laurel wreath was made
Already for his curly head.
Silly and childish in his ways;
They said: 'His future comes to naught.'
His future! In the dreadful days
When in a toil his feet were caught
He hacked his way to glory bright
Before his day went down in night.
He fretted wiser folk--small blame!
Such futile, feeble brains were his.
Now we doff hats to hear his name,
Ask pardon where his spirit is,
Because we never guessed him for
A hero in the disguise he wore.
It matters little how we live
So long as we may greatly die.
Fashioned for great things, O forgive
Our dullness in the days gone by!
Now glory wraps you like a cloak
From us, and all such common folk.

Let Us Care
Let us care, for those in U.S.A,
Where in New York, the struggles do stay;
The poor folk, left in the dark and cold,
From the very young children, to the old.
Let us help, get them to a place that's right,
Where they'll have a warm bed at night;
The disabled and the poor, need some care,
This is my concern, and my solemn prayer.
