Villanelle: The Asian Tsunami Dec 26th,2004
Women, children and men-Why swallowed thee?
With waters briny, blue and beautiful;
The home of fishes most, O hallowed Sea!
The happy isles of paradise beauty,
Now look so battered, flattened and woeful;
Women, children and men-Why swallowed Thee?
Perhaps, you acted with insanity!
The havoc caused to mankind is painful;
The home of fishes most, O hallowed Sea!
Perhaps, it was just one calamity!
The land seems bruised, so gloomy and awful;
Women, children and men-Why swallowed Thee?
The missing ones are umptine- what pity!
The persons saved looked rather sorrowful;
The home of fishes most, O hallowed Sea!
In death also, man lost his dignity!
Man paid his price for being not careful;
Women, children and men-Why swallowed Thee?
The home of fishes most, O hallowed Sea!

She Is There
i see some bamboo poles
lining up
on the shallow sea
she is there
watching some fishes without fins
without scales
she is there on some exclamations
this cannot be!
this cannot be!
the fish i know have fins!
the fish i know have scales all over their elongated bodies!
the fish i know can swim!
why are these fishes dying?
why are these fishes swimless in the sea where they belong?
yes my dear, the fishes and the sea, you do not belong there
the fishes are not yours and you do not belong to them
they have their own salty, slimy, scaly world,
they have gills and fins and round eyes
that do not blink
so you cannot tell them what to do, what to become.
in fact, you are neither fish nor fowl

Home Is Home
Here is home
Home is home
No place like home
Home is where u are welcome
Come home,
Come back home
You yearn for their zone
But it can't be your home,
Your relics are here,
You are only there
Where you can only desire
But can never acquire.
They quit you when they please
For you are only there on lease.
Come home with your cream,
Come home with your dream,
Come lets build ours
In these fleeting hours.

Fish of a Different Color
Big fish and small fish
Swimming here in this pond
Fast fish and slow fish
And now one is gone
Poor, foolish fishes
Just make a few stronger
And watch how these fishes
Devour each other
To be the small fish
I'm sure none would bother
But oh, don't you wish
You could make the pond smaller?
I've found my own niche
To live my life fuller
For I am a fish
Of a different color
My Desire Remained A Desire
My desire
Remained a desire
Never got fulfilled
So I decided
To make another desire,
I prayed to god
To give me strength
Not to desire
After few days
I asked god
What happened to?
My desire
Of not desiring
God said to me
Since you desired
Not to ever desire
If I fulfill it
You shall not get
What you desired
If I do not fulfill
Your desire
You shall keep on
Complaining
About unfulfilment
Of desire
So my advice is
Desire less
Remain contented
Do not expect much
As expectation breeds
Frustration
And frustration breeds
Anger
In anger one looses cool
Becomes
Rash and purposeless

During the winter eat long fishes, during the summer eat short fishes.
Spring Fish
Spring has adjustments to make over the school,
Its fences are damaged by the storm and clouds.
Spring and the time of its own is similar to everything taught
Under the sun. The school is swept by the winds into the sea.
A cool breeze has emptied its contents in a bed of the ocean
And there fishes have learnt lately of the molecular rocks
That signify a straight and morbid end to the fishes.
Too many have fish, and there are too many children.

Look What Happened When I Shared My Lunch
Off with my basket of loaves and fishes I sped
as I rushed up the hill to hear what Jesus said.
Sitting down I listened well to those words of His
for I had never heard any man speak like this.
Time went by so rapidly but I did not care
I could have stayed forever in His presence there.
As evening came all went quiet and all stood still
and many thousands were gathered upon the hill.
Then to my surprise his disciple came to me
for into my lunch basket he wanted to see.
So I showed him the five loaves and two fishes there
and he asked if I would be willing my lunch to share.
What food I had I took to Jesus willingly
and then as He gave thanks there so surprisingly
a miracle happened and my eyes opened wide
as the five loaves and two fishes were multiplied.
The multitudes were told to sit down on the ground
and my loaves and fishes were then passed around.
When all were fed twelve baskets were taken away
and five thousand people had eaten well that day.
I knew that He was the Prophet who was to come
and made my way rejoicing all the way back home.
I'll never forget the things Jesus did that day
after all the multitude had gone on their way.
For I'd learned that no gift would ever be too small
what's important is to be prepared to give Him all
I gave all to Him and recommend you do too
for wonderful blessings will result when we do.
written after reading John 6: 1-14
The deadly Leviathan
God’s ancient plaything
lays motionless while around it
fishes, small plants and steam are rising
and it settles down bit by bit
while in its stomach burns an ancient fire
and very deep down it swallows fishes by the ton
before sleeping some more is its only desire
but its eyes are always switched on
while it waits aeons for Michael to return
and in its heart hatred and longing for destruction burns
where it is gigantic in size, lying like a mountain of fuming rock
and slowly one of its many heads turns and turns
trying to comprehend,
while it lies if all its energy is spent
waiting, always waiting
to bring earth to its devastation, to its end.

An Ever Open Door
Desire to live, love and dream
Desire to desire more
Desire is the flirtiest whim
It's an ever open door.
Desire to touch you once
Desire to break into a dance
Desire to hold your hand
Desire to build on sand!
It's an ever open door
You desire and desire more!

Tiger Dreams
Little diamond in the rough
borne of joy and other stuff
Sleep, sleep, sleep
to where your secrets keep
For everything your heart wishes
is just what your life promises
Yes, like a tiger with wings
you can do anything
No, neither fool's farce, fog or fire
can keep you from the well of desire
Where dreams, secrets and wishes
you lap up like little fishes
Now soon you will awaken
and that is when you will make them
Come True

Limitations Of The Human Desire
desire wants to run
but its feet are bound by the codes
of restraints
desire wants to kiss
but the lips are owned by someone else
desire wants to make love
but there is no time left
desire wants to die
but there is no decision yet
and so desire sits on the floor
spreads its legs like one
ballet dancer
stills itself until the next music
plays
until the next curtain rises
until the next bell rings
before the night
is over

I'Need a kiss
Sunday is a holiday then we are going to that place.
That silent place full of silence, we are there standing,
we saw the so many coloured greenish leaves big trees.
so many birds, and butterflies decorating the blue sky
Then a butterfly dancing in the sky.
Together we Keep a released longing.
sitting near in the shallow river.
We see fishes in the depth so calm
We look up at the rainbow in the sky.
So many days you have never kiss me.
I'need a kiss, here in the silent place near in the river.
Trees, butterflies, fishes, please we are given a chance.to make a perfect kisses.
Here in the silent place.
My lips are longing after so many days you have never kiss me.
See my eyes, do you know my yearning?
Oh love***kiss me softly now*
everything will be quiet.
Just you and me enjoyed***kiss***
then my heart full of desire, you will know everything.
Your kiss fly with me.
Your kiss will stun me.
Your kiss will softly me soft.
Your kiss is sweet hearted.
Your kiss is a pray.
Your kiss is wanted
your kiss so bright
your kiss is everything.
I have seen one shrike occupy himself for hours in sticking up on thorns, a number of small fishes that the fishermen had thrown on the shore. The fishes dried up and decayed.

Coming Home
All those nights Ive spent alone,
Uninspired, so tired and wasted.
Theres lots of times Id have telephoned,
I couldnt find the words to say,
Im coming home,
Lord Im coming home
Ill make it short,
Ill make it sweet,
Make it up to you and me.
Im not the same guy I used to be,
What can I do to make you believe,
Im coming home,
Oh Im coming home.
Im coming home,
Yeah Im coming home.
Only seems like yesterday,
You and I were sayin goodbye,
Now Im just a few miles away
Gonna see you tonight.
Ive been alone and I live the pain,
Reach for you in desperation.
I was wrong, Ill take the blame,
I need you back now I just cant wait,
Im coming home
Yeah Im coming home.
Coming home,
Im just coming, coming,
Waiting it out.
Im just coming home.
