The dealer sits alone in the dark
Cigarette shines on his very last card
Everything he had... watched it come and go
On a gamblers roll
Cold wind blows a young girls world apart
She bet it all she bet it all on the jack of hearts
Gained her freedom but lost her soul
On a gamblers roll on a gamblers roll
You know the gambler he rides... rides on a fools train
Ah tradin silver for gold
Oh but his luck will change... time takes its toll
On a gamblers roll
The dealer knows... its just about his last game
Not even she knows all the sorrow and pain
As the forty-five deals the fatal blow
On a gamblers roll...on a gamblers roll
You know the gambler he rides... rides on a fools train
Tradin silver for gold
Ah but his luck will change... time takes its toll
On a gamblers roll... on a gamblers roll
On a gamblers roll... on a gamblers roll
On a gamblers... gamblers roll

You Can Contribute A Verse
Contribute a verse, contribute a verse,
Who can contribute a verse?
Contribute a verse, contribute a verse,
You can contribute a verse.
You may be an underpaid lab’rer,
Streetsweeper or overworked nurse,
A migrant without any papers,
But you can contribute a verse.
You left school at sixteen with no GCSEs?
Did you graduate from Oxford with a First?
Makes no diff’rence, not one bit, for you both are fully fit,
Well-equipped to lay before the world a verse.
You may have no notes in your wallet,
You may have no coins in your purse,
No shoes on your feet, no breakfast to eat,
But you can contribute a verse.
Are you feeling sad and lonely,
In the depths of misery?
Do you feel this Life we’re living
Is not worth the entrance fee?
Are you sure that things will not get any better?
Quite persuaded they will go from bad to worse?
No great problem, drama, crisis, doesn’t matter,
As long as you can come up with a verse.
And it’s possible you’ve heard that our days upon this earth
Are not many, are not many, precious few.
We have hardly enough time to take in all of the sights,
Or do the things that we would like to do.
For we’ve barely crawled out of the cradle,
Then they cart us away in a hearse.
So, in the meantime don’t be idle:
Be sure to contribute a verse!

The police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.

Charity begins from the heart!
When we think of doing charity,
We have to do it immediately,
Otherwise selfish thoughts emerge,
And will spoil that sprout of kindness,
With herbicidal spray of justification,
That convinces us not to contribute.
When we decide to contribute for the welfare,
We may accumulate a lot of blessings,
Let the receivers feel the dignity of being recognized,
In the hearts of our humble actions,
Not let ourselves to be dignified,
By letting them to feel that they are donated.
We should have the strength to give up our food,
Otherwise we can't fast for health and penance,
We need to have more strength to donate,
Whatever little that we have, to fulfill the need,
Of someone who is in hunger and thirst,
Let us have that strength to prove
That we are human with loving hearts.

There Is
There is accolade
For good work
For public welfare.
For welfare
Short or long
Does not matter
Good work is good
And you are there
To work.

Every man is to be considered in two capacities, the private and public; as designed to pursue his own interest, and likewise to contribute to the good of others.

Politician's might, People's right
Public elect to make their representative
As member of house for welfare of society;
They think they are in house for sovereignty
Public who created, forget their nativity.
Public elect and make them mighty member.
Larger group creating smaller, is a mother.
Son enjoys power and wealth without cap
But mother is left for starvation and rap.
If a mother delivered but still suffer pain
What more can be shameful for that son.
Deprived of rights promised in constitution
But has no right to claim compensation.

I have nothing but contempt for the kind of governor who is afraid, for whatever reason, to follow the course that he knows is best for the State and as for the man who sets private friendship above the public welfare - I have no use for him either.

Train without break
Train without break is like
No stopping self-immolaion.
Passenger fare hike
Is not a way of reform
And no a welfare mode
of the public emotion.

Thank god for being there
Above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever comes my way
I will be happy and gay
Life has its ups and downs
It gives us smiles and frowns
I will travel life’s journey mile by mile
With faith in my heart and on my lips a smile
Because above me u are there
To look after my welfare
In this birth I will do my best
In your hands I will leave the rest
There is a karma cycle I guess
So in sorrow also I will find happiness
No one is completely happy on this earth
I will do my best for the next birth
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever you give me in that I will make do
You have given me this life and you will see me through
You are my friend mentor and guide
By virtue truth and honesty I shall abide
I know your hand is on my head
So nothing I will ever dread
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare.

South Vietnam had to be built from scratch and, from the very beginning, depended far too much on the Western superpowers. As in the case of a person on public welfare, this dependency, which became greater with each day, was quite difficult to shake.
