Life Is Like This…
Most people run in life as if
They are one from a Zebra horde,
That does most things so much alike –
And turn to watch their comrade caught
By lions, tearing it apart –
Helplessly, to just walk away!

I See An Open Doorway
When you ask me 'what line of work are you in now',
and i reply that i don't actually receive a wage,
I wish i could explain but i don't know how,
but I know I'm too young for retirement at my age.
i'm unfit to work, i know it doesn't show,
forgive me if i don't justify my existence,
it's a battle to stop an unhealthy feeling grow,
please don't feed an already guilty conscience.
I keep myself busy, with the down and needy,
it gives me a reason, so i do what i can,
please don't say these people aren't in difficulty,
you just devalue, everything that i am.
i feel marginalised by society now,
labelled 'good for nothing' or worse,
i don't need a job to define me anyhow,
i now consider a gift, what i considered a curse.
because i know what it is that defines me,
it's not where i exchange hard earned time for pay,
it has been a while, but i'm beginning to see,
what once was a barrier, is now an open doorway.

A World That Makes You Wonder
There are people, mainly bosses
who get rid of the best
and replace them with the worst.
Hoping that the worst
are going to perform miracles,
but all they do is drag the firm down.
In education, the worst
are applauded and awarded
for wasting money
that should be used
for furthering education.
Bring it up to higher standards.
Yet if you work hard,
you are chastised for doing so.
The Government will bend over backwards
to help those who never want to work.
However, those who do work hard
normally end up on a minimum wage.
My conclusion to all this is,
well it is very simple.
They lazier you are,
the better thought of you are.
You will get all the praise and benefits.
Work hard and they will just use you
to do the work the lazy ones should do.
