In a Society in which there is no law, and in theory no compulsion, the only arbiter of behaviour is public opinion. Acceptance
I will my body to accept what I say
but it doesn't listen to my dismay.
And nothing I do seems to change that fact
and so I grumble and complain.
But I must be humble and remain
content with what it is I can do
for I find that I am still not through.
I can't walk as fast anymore.
I can't bend as I did before.
I can't sleep with comfort each night.
I can't remember what's for dinner tonight.
I can't climb up steps with ease.
I can't stand the cold, I freeze.
I can't stand to walk in highheels.
I can't eat a lot of big meals.
But what I can do is look and see
that others my age are just like me.
And that gives me comfort. I'm not alone.
I listen to my body for it's always known
