A full ear of corn will bend its head; an empty ear will stand upright.
To me, it's always a good idea to always carry two sacks of something when you walk around. That way, if anybody says, 'Hey, can you give me a hand,' you can say, 'Sorry, got these sacks.'

Three Graves
Early in the morn, into the ooze
There lay three sacks;
All tied tight with thin cords of polythene.
The sacks were muddy, blood seeped out
Through the fiber of jute.
Around them were pools of blood,
Mingling into the oozy contents,
The men, women and children went
And came by unheeded as nothing happened.
At last men of law came in uniforms
In haste with a hooting ambulance,
And they loaded the stained sacks,
Rushed towards the police station,
And placed them into a room in the basement.
The sacks contained mutilated bodies,
Minced hands and heads, brains and bellies,
Of a sister and two brothers, they were murdered
For no guilt but for being innocent.
No one claimed them their own,
And they buried them as heirless,
Into the remote graveyard of municipality.
No one is to attend their graves
Now they sleep side by side uninterrupted,
When the sun shines their white epitaphs
Shine too with the inscriptions,
‘Unity, Faith and Discipline: ’ the divine principles.

The Word In The Flames
You stand alone, carrying everything you've never known.
You stand alone, awaiting everything that comes hereafter.
You stand alone, swaying not in heat or strife.
You stand alone, telling of nothing that lies within you.
You stand alone, letting no one else come after you.
You stand alone, entering the empty skies.

Cat's Dream
cat
Egyptians' god
Japanese's courtesan
divine or despised
you walk tall
proving the
big dog is
but a coward
its heart
smaller
than your fist
fainter than your sneeze
as you stand upright
mom uses it as a lesson
for little tom
'Walk upright and
the world bows to you.'
i understand why

in giant feline strucutures
made to last for a million days

At That Minute You'll Smile Or Maybe Cry
When you stand before deity
will your dog stand at the right hand
to give judgement?
Will your dog speak, wagging its tail
of love
and caring
concern
and play
and did you worry when he was ill?
Or will he stand there trembling
tail hung low
speaking of abandonment,
pain and beatings,
being left alone,
no one to play with,
empty food dishs,
empty water bowls
for days. The sadness?
Which will your dog tell?

You have to bow a few times before you can stand upright.

To be a saint is the exception to be upright is the rule. Err, falter, sin, but be upright. To commit the least possible sin is the law for man. Sin is a gravitation.

Berry Picking
Berry picking back of the island,
Hiked a mile through the woods
Came upon the bright red berries
Glazed purple in the morning sun
We got down on our knees and picked everyone
The October sun shining down
Wild cranberries by the sea is a spectacular sight to see
Time out for lunch, we sat on a log
Surrounded by grasses, reed, and bog
Food tasted delightful out of doors
We savoured every bite
A gray jay in flight decided to join us for awhile
The uninvited guess indulged in the very best
We chatted for awhile of ordinary things
What the weather will bring
Cooking onion rings
Before going back to fill our sacks
The hours flew by
The October sun was fading from the sky
With red stained fingers and bruised knees,
We slung our sacks over our backs
Stumbled our way back
Homeward bound with our bounty in our flour sacks

Explorations: XXVI
I stand
At your door-step
With an empty bowl
I can't ask you
Why I'm made
To stand there
I can't ask you
Why my bowl
Is empty;
The bowl
The emptiness
And I
Are all your design
Are your creation!

Empty Playground
The swings stand empty,
but rock back and forth.
Probably in the memory,
of the children who sat on them.
The slide is also empty,
with no laughter filling the air.
The children have all gone home,
leaving the playground empty
with no one there.
Maybe tomorrow
there might be laughter there,
and the empty playground
will not seem so bare.

I stand on You, The Solid Rock
Hidden in You, in Light I stand,
throughout the storms, when darkness rise,
I'm not afraid I'm in Your hand,
the faith in You shines in my eyes.
Because of grace, I am Your child,
I'll live for You at any cost,
I won't be troubled nor defiled,
I know The Way I am not lost.
You died for me, You took my blame,
My life is not for this old land,
I'll go to death for Your great Name,
I know in Heavens, I will stand.
Until that time, I'll humbly walk,
I have no merit as I stand,
I stand on You, the solid Rock,
The tomb is empty, so I'll stand!

Come Gather Round Me, Parnellites
COME gather round me, Parnellites,
And praise our chosen man;
Stand upright on your legs awhile,
Stand upright while you can,
For soon we lie where he is laid,
And he is underground;
Come fill up all those glasses
And pass the bottle round.
And here's a cogent reason,
And I have many more,
He fought the might of England
And saved the Irish poor,
Whatever good a farmer's got
He brought it all to pass;
And here's another reason,
That parnell loved a lass.
And here's a final reason,
He was of such a kind
Every man that sings a song
Keeps Parnell in his mind.
For Parnell was a proud man,
No prouder trod the ground,
And a proud man's a lovely man,
So pass the bottle round.
The Bishops and the party
That tragic story made,
A husband that had sold hiS wife
And after that betrayed;
But stories that live longest
Are sung above the glass,
And Parnell loved his countrey
And parnell loved his lass.

Stand-Up Comedians
Stand-up comedians so funny
Joke around to earn their money
They’re never funny sitting down
But when standing vertically upright
Their comedic humor is out of sight
Funny-ing as they act like stand-up clowns
They just can’t be funny or sassy
Sitting on their sorry assy’s
Perpendicular they invite loud guffaws
And with their joke-around renditions
In their stand-around positions
They welcome all appreciative applause
When they’re on stage it is behooved
To have all the sit-down chairs removed
So they can fill the halls with tons of laughter
So these stand-up fools so funny
Can earn rafts of funny money
The house is filled with laughs up to the rafter
