Ears that do not listen to advice, accompany the head when it is chopped off.

Free Of Lip
The ones who are quick to assume,
Can be counted upon to initiate rumors.
And don't ask twice,
From them to give opinion.
Or listen to their advice.
The giving of it already comes unsolicited.
If familiy members become confused,
And neighbors are found spreading...
News untrue,
Head for the ones...
With their mouths on ears.
Stuck to them like teeth to chewing gum.
And those ears choosing to stayed glued,
To the ones who are free of lip...
Prefabricating fresh gossip,
Soon will discover...
Who has been making daily deposits,
To aid to all of their misunderstandings and confusion.
The ones who are quick to assume,
Can be counted upon to initiate rumors.
And don't ask twice,
From them to give opinion.
Or listen to their advice.
The giving of it already comes unsolicited.

I'd want to write
I’d want to write
A piece
About Zimbabwe
A country, gifted with nature,
Granted with land, fertile
In the darling continent of Africa.
How it’s economy so vibrant
Started
Wearing thin and out
All due to man, men, people
Few, yet in power
From within and outside
Black, white, dark and light.
I’d want to compose
A rhythm
For Sudan
The largest land in Africa
Where no vocabulary of peace is known
And knowledge of rights realized.
Where heartless gunmen
Callously open their arms
And see bullets dying
And innocent lives flying
All due to man, men, people
Few, yet in power
From within
So merciless, pitiless and ruthless.
I’d want to scribble
Some few lines
For Laurent Gbagbo
Of Cote d’Ivoire
Reminding him
Of the wisdom of Africa,
That elections’ aim isn’t killing
But winning;
Of the practical sense of democracy,
That accepting defeat isn’t failing
But progressing.
I’d want to pen
A song
To all incumbent leaders in Africa
About power, democracy and greed
How they ought to concede defeat,
To allow their eyes to see
And ears to listen to
The wisdom of Africa,
Lessons from experiences
That’ve seen many losing their lives
For they’re the same
Eyes and ears
That accompany the head
When it is chopped off.
Truly, I’d want to jot.

Change The World?
do you know what
will really change the world?
when we learn how to listen...
not just with our ears,
but with our minds,
with our hearts,
with eyes that have seen,
and known...
and so can see
our selves in others!
listen...
with compassion...
without condemnation,
or judgement.
with silence,
no need to correct,
or give advice.
with our hands,
open and willing to help.
with our feet,
ready to walk beside!
to listen...
as if to the sound
of our own hearts beating...
to listen,
and to understand!

Why Can't You Listen?
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why do you call Me?
Why do you say you're alone?
You wish for Me to appear.
And yet when I'M near.
Your closed ears wont hear Me!
Why do you pray to Me?
Master I Am of your World.
I'M with you there silently.
But you will not see...
Everything that is Me!
One I Am and only One!
Maker of your Moon, Stars and Sun.
All things on Earth that is there...
Is there if you ask,
But your faith does not last!
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why do you call Me?
Why do you say you're alone?
You wish for Me to appear.
And yet when I'M near.
Your closed ears wont hear.
A word.
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen to Me.
Listen...
And let Me in!
'Father...
Clear my mind of these obstacles! '
I'M trying!
But you wish it 'your' way.
And not the way MY way is.

Sound Advice
(words & music by baum - giant)
Some folks tell you what to do
They think they know more than you
They insist that theyre givin sound advice
But as sure as youre livin
It aint sound, it aint nice
It just doesnt sound like sound advice
Some folks like to be the boss
They get up on their high horse
Oh they say that youre gettin, sound advice
There one thing Im bettin
It aint wise, it aint nice
You wont like the sound of their advice
Sound advice were given
Just as sure as your as youre livin
If your smart youll think twice
When they start to sound off with advice
Sound advice were given
Just as sure as your as youre livin
If your smart youll think twice
When they start to sound off with advice
Dont listen to their sound advice

Good Advice
Open the window I need some air
So many people and theres such disorder here
Familiar faces found out lies
Turn to the street now I watch the passers by
I wonder what they recognize
And what theyd recommend to fill my days
Possessions start to wear me down
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Instead they harbor secret thoughts
They break through windows that have twice been locked
I have to walk to wear me out
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
I throw my arms and pray to leave
I gotta head for love like is inside me
My lips press tight so not to drown
I need some good advice some good advice to wear me down
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Im nervous can you help me
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Give me some good advice to help me along
If I know its true
Im nervous
Give me some good advice to wear me down

Listen To The Rain
(Rain)
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen listen
Listen to each drop of rain (listen listen)
Aaah
Whispering secrets in rain (listen listen)
Aaah
Frantically searching for someone to hear
That story be more than it hides
Please don't let go
Can't we stay for a while?
It's just to hard to say goodbye
Listen to the rain
Aa...ah
Listen listen listen listen listen listen to the rain
Weeping
Oo...ooh oooh ooh oo...ooh
Oo...ooh oooh oh oh
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen
I stand alone in the storm (listen listen)
Suddenly sweet words take hold
(Listen listen)
Hurry they stay for you haven't much time
Open your eyes to the love around you
You can feel youre alone
But I'm here still with you
You can do what you dream
Just remember to listen to the rain
oo...ooh oh oh oh oh
ooh ooh oh oh oooh

A Moment Of Silence
Bow your head and listen
its a lesson to learn
yet it your not getting
but you raise your hand to ask a question
but no one can answer
so you bow your head in silence
they all begin to laugh
not with you but at you
you sit alone because theres nothing you can do
you ask for peace
to be left alone
but tears fall when your on your own
burning memories
and riping pasts
hoping for moments that will last
so listen now and listen good
because my ears are open
atleast someones should
poor it all out to me open your heart
all of it builds up inside
so its tearing you a part
can we have a moment of silence
for the times you tried but in the end failed
a moment of silence for when the truths revailed
and someone actually wants to listen
a moment of silence for concentration
hear your heart beat
so when you look up you'd be standing by me
Can we have a moment of silence?

Good Advice Is Free
Looking up and down the street,
Before one goes across...
May save one's life without the strife.
And prevent paying a cost.
This advice is free.
This advice is free.
No matter what it is one thinks,
Agony is mean.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Before you pout and give me looks,
About something I say.
Open up your ears a moment,
Don't push me away.
This advice is free.
This advice is free.
No matter what you think of me...
I'm not your enemy.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Why do people get offended,
By a truth that's told.
But lies they seem to cling onto,
And then sell their own souls.
To leave them feeling...so low!
This advice is free.
No fee paid.
This advice is free.
No matter what expense is paid,
Good advice is free.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Why do people get offended,
By a truth that's told.
But lies they seem to cling onto,
And then sell their own souls.
To leave them feeling....so low!
This advice is free.

Good advice is free.
Good advice is free.
No matter what you think of me...
Good advice is free.
Good advice is free.
No fee paid.
Good advice is free.
No matter what expense is paid,
Think of preventing the agony.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Nah, nah, nah-nah.
Nah, nah, nah-nah, nah-nah NAH!

Those Who Don't Take Their Own Advice
I was told to pretend I sat on top of the world!
I did that!
And I was hit in the head by space debris.
Now I have a tremendous headache.
Wishing I did what I always had done.
Not listen to anyone.
Especially those who don't take their own advice.

Love Is In The Heart
Don't listen to what the neighbors say
Love is in the heart
Don't listen to what your friend's all say
Love is in the heart
Poeple try to give you their advice
But all I know is I feel her heartbeat
Even though we're apart
our hearts feel what others don't realize
Love is in the Heart
Don't listen to what the books say
Love is in the heart
Don't listen to that love advice
Love is in the heart
When my darling text's Goodnight
I feel safe and loved thought the night
If this love was a meal it would be supersize
our hearts feel what others don't realize
Love is in the Heart
This love is a personal thing
It has an emotional ring
that makes my heart feel alive
and make me want to sing
Don't listen to what others bring
Love is in the heart
Don't listen to what the neighbors say
Love is in the heart
Don't listen to what your friend's all say
Love is in the heart

My Ears - My Eyes
My ears are my eyes because I am blind.
When I cross the street I listen for the sound of cars braking.
My ears are my eyes.
When I enter a room I tap my cane onto the floor and listen for the distance the echo travel to know how far I am away from someone else. My ears are my eyes.
I may never physical see the beauty of a spring day, but when I hear the birds are chirping, bikes constantly peddling by and lovers saying I love you. I know it is a beautiful spring day. I may be blind but I still see my ears are my eyes.
Note: No I am not blind myself but I know several people who are and this is me letting the rest of the world how they see through my poetry.
A prince without ears to listen has no head to govern.
When the government has no ears to listen with, then she has no head for governing.
So Insistent
Sometimes God is so insistent
when I will not listen.
God kept telling me in my head
but I would not listen.
God wrote it repeatedly in my heart
because I would not listen.
Spoke words into my head mind heart
soul before I would listen.

Without My Interference
Very early I was given one choice...
To listen.
OR...
Suffer through the consequences.
Of course,
I knew those consequences well.
With bruises on my head,
From knocking it up against brick walls.
But that was then.
Not only have I learned to listen...
I now have learned to pay attention.
With less from my mouth going out.
And more with my eyes and ears open,
To receive and allow what is coming in...
To make its own sense without my interference.
To learn 'something' I had not learned before.
And you know...
It is amazing how this works,
To obtain comprehension.
Who knew this approach,
Leads to a quickened understanding?
Who knew that's how this happens?
I still find myself scratching my head in disbelief.

Tired Eyes
Well he shot four men in a cocaine deal
And he left them lyin in an open field
Full of old cars with bullet holes in the mirrors.
He tried to do his best but he could not.
Please take my advice, please take my advice
Please take my advice.
Open up the tired eyes,
Open up the tired eyes.
Well, it wasnt supposed to go down that way.
But they burned his brother, you know,
And they left him lying in the driveway.
They let him down with nothin.
He tried to do his best but he could not.
Please take my advice, please take my advice
Please take my advice.
Open up the tired eyes,
Open up the tired eyes.
Well tell me more, tell me more, tell me more
I mean was he a heavy doper or was he just a loser?
He was a friend of yours.
What do you mean, he had bullet holes in his mirrors?
He tried to do his best but he could not.
Please take my advice, please take my advice
Please take my advice.
Open up the tired eyes,
Open up the tired eyes.
Please take my advice, please take my advice
Please take my advice.
Open up the tired eyes,
Open up the tired eyes.

Take A Fools Advice
(charles singleton)
If you love her
And she makes one mistake,
Please dont leave her
It would make your heart ache.
Take a fools advice,
Dont pay the price I had to pay.
If you need her
But youre letting her go,
Please dont do it
Youll be sorry, I know.
Take a fools advice,
Dont pay the price I had to pay.
Truly,
Shes caused you to doubt her,
Truly,
Shes broken the rules.
But lifes not worth living without her,
So listen to the wisdom of a fool.
Think it over
And forgive her this time,
I was foolish
I lost the love that was mine.
Take a fools advice,
Dont pay the price I had to pay.
Take a fools advice,
Dont pay the price I had to pay.

Poparazzi
tune
tune for the poparazzi
tune for the poparazzi
this is a tune the poparazzi
the who's who and the so and so's
this is a tune for the graven images of marilyn monroe
we saw your face on the magazine
we heard the song on the mp3
you're stuck in my head
stuck in my head
stuck in my head
you can close your ears and your eyes
but the pop will never leave you alone
tune for the poparazzi
leave me alone
with your social lingo
you try so hard to stay on top
leave me alone
with your little jingle
with your picture perfect pop
we read the article in seventeen
we saw the video on mtv
you're stuck in my head
stuck in my head
stuck in my head
you can close your ears and your eyes
but the pop will never leave you alone
pop will never leave you alone
noooo
this is a tune for the late nirvana
the teen spirit rock and roll
this is a tune for the velvet elvis's
on the 90210
i thought my eyes were gonna get off clean
till i read your lips on the tv screen
you were busy saying what you didn't mean
now everyone is singing along with your ridiculous song
you got it stuck you
got it stuck in my head
stuck in my head
stuck in my head
you can close your ears and your eyes
you can close your ears and your eyes
but the pop will never leave you alone
tune for the poparazzi
