Metaphors of a Magnifico
Twenty men crossing a bridge,
Into a village,
Are twenty men crossing twenty bridges,
Into twenty villages,
Or one man
Crossing a single bridge into a village.
This is old song
That will not declare itself . . .
Twenty men crossing a bridge,
Into a village,
Are
Twenty men crossing a bridge
Into a village.
That will not declare itself
Yet is certain as meaning . . .
The boots of the men clump
On the boards of the bridge.
The first white wall of the village
Rises through fruit-trees.
Of what was it I was thinking?
So the meaning escapes.
The first white wall of the village...
The fruit-trees...

The Bridge To Nowhere
We've been crossing a bridge
for way too long.
And every step we're taking
is just plain wrong.
There's nothing on the other side
that's not right here,
just a fool's perception
of what's unclear.
A fool searches for a pot of gold
always where there is none.
And a bridge to nowhere
is the ultimate run
into a place that doesn't exist,
a place that's never, ever been kissed
by the sun, the moon
or the stars in the sky.
So why, why, why cross that bridge?
You'll only find yourself
hung out to dry.

Crossing The Border
Hey, take it and run, child
Ill ask you no questions
We traded our fortunes
Crossing the border
I hope you got lucky
You needed a change
I--i made it without you
Crossing the border
We were like a couple of wetbacks running
Standin on the banks of some dangerous river
Lookin into a brave new country
Risky business
Crossing the border
Ahhh, you--you doubled my chances
I--i sure do want your freedom
I--Ill never forget you
Crossing the border
Back when we were out there
Crossing the border
Layin it on the line
Crossing the border

VIOLENT J AND SHAGGS 2 DOPE: Ive lived on hell of a life, if your to take it tonight, Ive lived the life of a king, but so muck to darken the light/Looking 360 degrees, two hundred thousand disease, how can I lay back and chill, so many down on their knees/But then again who am I, Im just some typical guy, I aint no in hero, I just been wondering why...
VIOLENT J AND SHAGGS 2 DOPE (CHORUS): I seen some children/Crossing the bridge/What kind of life did/They get to live? What kind of choice do/They get to make/What if it was a/Childs mistake?
VIOLENT J AND SHAGGS 2 DOPE: Ill never question the book, but lets say I lived by the book, I never ate meat on Tuesdays, how much bigger would my wings look?/I try to pray everyday, but sometimes get lost on the way, I seen the holiest spirit, so muck to miss lead the way/I gave the visions I got, I been told Im gonna rot, inside the devils intestines, Im still here holding my spot, Ive just been wondering why...
VIOLENT J AND SHAGGS 2 DOPE (CHORUS): I seen some children/Crossing the bridge/What kind of life did/They get to live? What kind of choice do/They get to make/What if it was a/Childs mistake?
BREAK DOWN: COME ON UP AND OPEN UP YOUR DOOR/WHAT IF ITS A PERGATORY DOOR/COME ON UP AND OPEN UP YOUR DOOR/WHAT IF ITS A PERGATORY DOOR/ in take me instead!
CHORUS: I seen some children/Crossing the bridge/What kind of life did/They get to live? What kind of choice do/They get to make/What if it was a/Childs mistake?/ in take me instead!

Crossing Over
(on the cant stop lovin you cd single)
I reach across to the other side
To make contact with you
Golden slumber, you fill my dreams
When [and? ] I make contact with you, oh
Dont ask me why Im crossing over
Oh, crossing over
Sammy: eddie:
I never got to ? whats it all about?
Really know you is there a way... out...
The way I want to now outta here
So many things i... Im like the rest;
I didnt tell you seeking an answer
I wanna tell you now
Tell me why, oh lord but why, why, why, why?
Youre crossing over why? why?
(I gotta bring you back... to see your face)
Oh, crossing over
(I wanna hear you call my name, [to] feel your touch)
Reaching out, reaching out
(hear your voice again)
(to hear your voice again)
Crossing over
(to feel your touch)
Reaching out
(to feel you)
Crossing over
(to feel)
Crossing over
(to feel)
Reaching out, reaching out

Down At The Bridge
I went down to the (? ? ? ? ? )
Didnt really know what I was going for
Must have been a stroke of destiny
Thats a break (into me)? ?
We met in the frozen food section
It was mrs. swanson love connection
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge
You can really tell a lot about a man
By if he likes his peaches to eat fresh or canned
Does he like tide or prefer wisk
Ive never go to know a guy as good as this
You ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
It was love at first sigh, there was no denying
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Its not real fast, but it goes real far
Like what I say, wouldnt have it any other way way way
I walk slowly towards you down the aisle
I got this future flash and it made me smile
I knew right then I had better leave or forever hold my peace
Put your grocery bag inside my cart
And I knew Id never get ya out of my heart
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge
Down at the bridge. down down down at the bridge

The Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
With your numerous arches and pillars in so grand array
And your central girders, which seem to the eye
To be almost towering to the sky.
The greatest wonder of the day,
And a great beautification to the River Tay,
Most beautiful to be seen,
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
That has caused the Emperor of Brazil to leave
His home far away, incognito in his dress,
And view thee ere he passed along en route to Inverness.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
The longest of the present day
That has ever crossed o'er a tidal river stream,
Most gigantic to be seen,
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
Which will cause great rejoicing on the opening day
And hundreds of people will come from far away,
Also the Queen, most gorgeous to be seen,
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
And prosperity to Provost Cox, who has given
Thirty thousand pounds and upwards away
In helping to erect the Bridge of the Tay,
Most handsome to be seen,
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
I hope that God will protect all passengers
By night and by day,
And that no accident will befall them while crossing
The Bridge of the Silvery Tay,
For that would be most awful to be seen
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.
Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
And prosperity to Messrs Bouche and Grothe,
The famous engineers of the present day,
Who have succeeded in erecting the Railway
Bridge of the Silvery Tay,
Which stands unequalled to be seen
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green.

Qualm and Quandary
Glacial icicles heralding the season
Pangs sharply with the shuddering
Of icy sharpness, sepulchral sensation
That faints along with the listening.
The lithe bridge stretched, frost and locked
From where the street lights disappear,
I stood steady like a glacial rock
In obverse to your brewing fear.
I sense your warmth on the frozen floor
Ambivalent in crossing the bridge for
You're blinded by the thick haze or
Your valor froze with the hushed clamor.
The bridge winds like a gyroscope
A complex road, a spinning wheel
Whirs sharply with shrouded hope
Steadfast and take the reel.
Whatever is not whoever's will
Catch the flickering lights of amber
When the bridge burns in the winter chill
Or we'll leave our post and seek to where
The point where we shall not betray
And the storm shall clear with apologetic sympathy
From where you are,
To where I'll be.

The Rivers Too Wide
(morrison)
The rivers too wide now for crossing
The waters rush too loud for talking
We never build bridges for walking
cause the rivers too wide
A gentle stream once flowed between us
But love could cross it easily
Till stormy skies brought bitter teardrops
And made that stream a raging river
Come between you and me
The rivers too wide now for crossing
The waters rush too loud for talking
We never build bridges for walking
Theres no getting to the other side
The rivers too wide now for crossing
The current goes too deep for mending
It looks like an unhappy ending
cause the rivers too wide
Good lessons learned are not forgotten
We gave up love to save our pride
Next time Im faced with rising waters
Ill build a bridge of love and kindness
Reaching to the other side
The rivers too wide now for crossing
The waters rush too loud for talking
We never build bridges for walking
Theres no getting to the other side
The rivers too wide now for crossing
The current goes too deep for mending
It looks like an unhappy ending
cause the rivers too wide

To My Daughter
Probably only one memory
Fragile bridge passed the river rapids
The bridge was really glad
when your feet step on
Stand up on top of tweak
Then the longer it confidently
And finally you can run on it
Maybe you're be able to laugh now
But when you were sad
Don't you forget the bridge
Hold -the bridge it was- necessarily
because the bridge, it was me

Double Crossing Time
By john mayall and eric clapton
Its a mean old scene when it comes to double crossing time.
Its a mean old scene when it comes to double crossing time.
When you think you got good buddies, they will spin around and cheat you blind.
Double crossing man is mean, he will try to make it so you lose.
Double crossing man, he will try to make it so you lose.
Youll fill your mind with worry, you know he hurt me with the blues.

Crossing Over
I see the lights,
I see the road
I see everything in the
highway code
I've been whipped
and I've been spun cown
there ain't no religion here
And I'm homeward bound
Wherever you go,
wherever you are
I am crossing over
to the other side
And now I am waiting for an answer,
some kind of sign
Looking for a love
to be my guide
I am crossing over
to the other side
Friendships come
and lifetimes go
In their passing to the
bigger show
The river runs,
the tides will turn
If there's a hell,
well I've yet to learn
Wherever you go,
wherever you are
I am crossing over
to the other side
And now I am waiting for an answer,
some kind of sign
Looking for a love
to be my guide
I am crossing over
to the other side
To dream the dream that's over
before it's gone
To hold your lover here
while your heart beats so strong
Baby when I love you
when everything is gone
When I'm kissing heaven
this love is never wrong
Solo
I hear the singing,
I hear the shout
The talk of meaning
for those in doubt
But amid all the wailing and
the wringing hands
Everybody thinks
does anyone understand?
Wherever you go,
wherever you are
I am crossing over
to the other side
And now I am waiting for an answer,
some kind of sign
Looking for a love
to be my guide
I am crossing over
to the other side
I am crossing over
to the other side
And now I am waiting for an answer,
some kind of sign
Looking for a love
to be my guide
Cos I am crossing over
to the other side

In Grief
When death came to a woman who leapt from a bridge,
Her husband leapt into grief, and was surprised by her act;
“Help me sleep! ” he cried, “Help me overcome this grief! ”
The death of a woman was a tragic affair, a surprise for all of us;
Death occurred for a reason, death managed a grasp,
Sleep was the ultimate action to make so as to overcome her death.
She had lapses of strength, no one can deny this,
But strong women should be better than the acts of cruelty
On the soul possessed, on the body possessed.
Sleep arrived as if crossing a bridge, the bridge of unconsciousness,
In this period of dreams, he dreamt of a woman so powerful,
Not an angel but a polite female, a profound wife so alive in heaven.

Even though words have no wings, they can still fly a thousand miles. Even if you encounter a stone bridge, tap it first before crossing. Through old things, we learn new things.
The Greedy Dog
Once upon a time, a dog
Barked away in his bog
Hunting away for food was he
As he was really hungry
One day, he found a bone
Surely, it stopped his moan
Then, he went to cross
A bridge to go across
Crossing the bridge, he looked down
It was a dog, what he found
He was looking at his own reflection
And wanted another collection
There was a bone in the pond
Of what the dog was fond
Looking down, he was greedy
He barked away, became needy
There was no bone down there
The dog was unable to bear
He had nothing left, but sorrow
Alas! What about morrow?
He had not any solution
Hence, we get the conclusion
The dog could be happy with just one
Ultimately, he had left none
Take only what you need
Instead of having any greed
Be satisfied with your possession
That is my suggestion
So don't be like the dog,
Who barked away in his bog

What Was
I can't go home;
even if I do
because that me going home
would be expected
to be
someone I haven't been in so very long.
How to be with family and friends
who constantly want to talk about
that young kid
who's long since moved on.
Out of klndness and memory
I play along
and let them
brag and fawn
over a person
long gone
into the forward years
while they look back
into what for you
is only the dimly remembered.
I told my mother to dismantle my room
dismantle the museum
keeping it that way, I said,
was inappropriate and too tempting
because I don't have the luxury
of looking back
while I am trying to move on.
So home is somewhat like an old love affair
nice while it lasted
but something which needs to be outgrown
as the truth is
one can never really
go back home
unchanged
from what was
then
the hurt in Mom's eyes
not withstanding.

Burn That Bridge
Burn that bridge
By: jimmy buffett, michael utley, will jennings
1984
Im not sayin Im scareda you
But your kinda love is somethin new
When I hold you were swayin in the wind
Of all the bridges Ive ever crossed
High and lonesome and wild and lost
I feel this time Ill take it to the end
We dont care what the people may say
If theres a price its the price well pay
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
We both done our share of runnin around
So we know enough to know the kind of love weve found
Its the real thing and weve got to see it through
Im a singer and a sailor on a midnight sea
(oh captain come and take me on your fantasy)
If were crazy that aint nothin new
cause we dont care what the people may say
If theres a price its the price well pay
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Who knows how it started
Who knows it end
The point of no return is waiting
Just around the bend
Chorus:
And well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Chorus:
Yes well burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to it
Burn that bridge when we come to
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down
Burn it down

The Sorry Divide
if the man
the woman
the father
the mother
the friend
cannot say sorry
perhaps you can quietly
say sorry
for him or her
without further comment
to make a bridge
show him her the way
the crossing
is his her time solution
to cross or not to cross
