The Magpie and the Young Dove

On the ground they struck each other
with their wings out stretched.
But the dove was so much smaller
and couldn’t evade the magpie’s pecks.

As feathers flew, it held down the dove
with its powerful grasping claws.
Once, twice, three times, it pecked,
and again several times more.

The tired dove’s resistance vanished
as the magpie took one hop back.
It stood admiring the results of its conflict
before making its final attack.

This brief encounter was nearly over,
the dove turned to face the magpie,
but then a dog approached the scene
and the magpie flew into the sky.

Keeping a close watch over its prey,
it waited in a nearby tree.
The dog lost interest and sauntered away,
giving the magpie opportunity.

One hop then two, it approached for the kill,
but the dog returned to save the day.
This time the magpie didn’t come back,
and the dove recovered to fly away.

On Hearing A White Backed Magpie Singing In The Rain

The white backed magpie singing and skies so gloomy gray
And magpie does sound happy on such a gloomy day
But why is magpie happy what reason for his joy
All in the depths of Winter this morning in July? .

The rain come down in torrents and dark clouds o'er the hill
And freshening winds blow colder the breath of winter chill
The raindrops freely running adown the window pane
And still the magpie singing and whistling in the rain.

Why is the magpie singing what reason for his cheer
On this cold day in winter the wettest of the year?
The wettest day of Winter the wind blow cold and strong
And merry magpie singing his distinct happy song.

The white backed magpie piping his happy melody
On wettest day in Winter on rain soaked blackwood tree
And I ponder the question the simple question why?
The magpie feel so happy on wet day in July.

Confide In Me

(melissa manchester/stanley schwartz)
Confide in me
Religh on me
And I will try to satisfy
Your every need
Through the day
till we say goodnight
Take it slow, easy go
Any friend would recommend
The starlight show
On a night like this
I insist you try
Oh, now I know the nights will last
Morning sun is shining through
So close the door
And let the whole world passes by
While I confide in you
If you take the time
You will find
A smile face, warm embrace
A sympathetic mind, to do it right
Confide in me tonight
Oh, now I know the nights will last
Morning sun is shining through
So close the door
And let the whole world passes by
While I confide in you
Confide in me
Religh on me
Any wish, youve ever missed
Is guaranteed
Theres a peace of mind
You will find
Confide in me tonight
Ooh, confide in me tonight

3. Unfair Trade

The magpie had opened a jeweller’s
With his liking for silver and gold
Went shopping for stock in the sunlight
Where it shone till his beak took a hold

He wasn’t too keen on the rubies
Though a diamond could shine pretty bright
A gold pocket watch with it’s chain on
Filled magpie with such great delight

Alas his shop put up the shutters
Poor magpie to jail now has gone
Raven police said stocks not paid for
And all got claimed back one by one

Two Birds Wished To Be Friendly

1 Two birds wished to be friendly

I was the messenger winged
Hither thither cuckoo and magpie
Two birds wished to be friendly

'Come here, o' dear, come here'
coo~~coo~~coo~~~in rising notes
Two birds wished to be friendly
I was the messenger winged

2 Hither thither cuckoo and magpie

Two birds wished to be friendly
I was the messenger winged
Hither thither cuckoo and magpie

Warbling, whistling, fluty trilling
Magpie just couldn't let me read
Hither thither cuckoo and magpie
Two birds wished to be friendly

3 Two birds wished to be friendly

I was the messenger plucked punished
Gloomed cuckoo, confused magpie
Two birds wished to be friendly

Reading failing, messaging failing
Loamy homey cuckoo angry with me
Two birds wished to be friendly
I was the messenger plucked punished

One for Sorrow; Two for Joy

Good morning Mr Magpie
alone again, like me
I greet you then I bless myself
and hope that I shall see
your lady busy in the trees
up here in Jagger Green.

The wind is soft and urgent
on the pale green Yorkshire hills
rooks fuss in high bare branches
looking down on silent mills
and the magpie is a single bird
up here in Jagger Green.

I watched him as he rested
in the Mayday morning light
then hard and low and straight there came
another flash of black and white
and the sun is like a woman's kiss
up here in Jagger Green.

What A Woman Can Do***************1979

when a woman can bring beauty into the heart of man
she knows that she is on the right track.
for man will always try to hide the feelings
he has locked up inside.
it is an emotion he will try to deny.

but when he looks upon your face
he will know it's no disgrace
to let his feelings all unwind
and want to be with you til the end of time.

for a woman can bring out the feelings that he never knew
she can take away the sadness and heartaches
he may have gone through.
to make him feel he can confide in you.

'this is what a woman can do'.

Confide In Me

Written: paul anderson, dave seaman
Je suis loin de toi,
Je t'observe de loin,
Devrais-je te venir en aide,
Qu'importe qui tu es,
Nous sommes tous blesss en amour,
Et nous devons tous porter notre croix,
Mais au nom de la comprhension,
Un problme devrait tre partag,
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Je peux garder un secret,
Et jeter la clef,
Quelques fois pour le lacher,
C'est pour librer nos enfants,
Nous sommes tous blesss en amour,
Et nous devons tous porter notre croix,
Mais au nom de la comprhension,
Un problme devrait tre partag,
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Stick or twist,
The choice is yours,
Hit or miss,
What's mine is yours,
Stick or twist,
The choice is yours,
Hit or miss,
What's mine is yours,
Nous sommes tous blesss en amour,
Et nous devons tous porter notre croix,
Mais au nom de la comprhension,
Un problme devrait tre partag,
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)
Confide in me (fie toi moi)

Chauvinist

I’d never really comprehended such a mighty range of
Shapes and sizes down behind, it’s really rather strange:
The buttock muscle in a woman, overlaid with fat
Is actually such a focal point for men to want to pat

Or squeeze, and then to tease her if it’s eminently stout,
Or even risk a stay in clink to sting it with a clout!
After all, we men are tuned to be that way inclined –
And tho’ our needs are varied, girls, they’re all perverse of mind!

Best of all, our sacred dream: to see her shed her gown
When gliding to the shower for the ritual sponging down.
But then alas! With body lathered, oops! she drops the soap;
‘Please! ’ we beg her, ‘bend and bare! ’ But we can only hope!

I’m sure by now you get the picture – like a rule of thumb –
That men like me obsess all day about the fairer bum.

The Best Day Of The Year

This morning very early I heard the magpie sing
And suddenly it dawned on me it's the first day of Spring
The dawning of September and on the stringybark
The white backed magpie whistled sweet music in the dark.

The first day of September the best day of the year
That is if you are living in the Southern Hemisphere
For Spring the Season of beauty and of greenery and youth
A time of bloom and grass growth when seedlings take to root

The Spring came in at midnight from places far away
She crept in through the darkness for her annual three months stay
And magpie he woke early on the stringybark tree
And for the welcome visitor piped his sweetest melody.

This morning very early before the dawn of day
The magpie welcomed the visitor from places far away
And the first day of September the best day of the year
That is if you are living in the Southern Hemisphere.

Don't Call Me Bitch

Drifting, dribbling, dreadfulness…
Feelings or ideals which pull…
You away…

From the realities of your life…
Keeping you from reciprocating…
Or reclaiming truth of self…

Become! Rebellious concerning…
Self…
Let your love from within…

Broadcast to you…
You are very special…
You are woman…

A gift…A queen…
A reckoning force in this world…

This world call man’s…
To rebuff…
It is a woman’s world as well…

Recant those or that which…
Does not cater to a woman’s…
Self esteem…

Stop being invisible…
But be invincible…
Project your inner self…

As God created you…
To help maintain a balance on this earth.

'Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.' Matthew,10: 16.

Her Hidden Treasure

Her flame was only for the women –
Not for us unlucky men;
A weakness lay for feminine way:
To feel an even fairer skin
In silky slide.

Her lips were for the satin love that
Only flows from rising breast;
The creamy tan was not for man
To pull towards a chiselled chest
In weathered hide.

Her hidden treasure down below
Would shy away from macho length
And only rouse upon the blouse
Undone by other sapphic strength –
In time, inside!

You ARE A Woman :)

You are a woman,
A strong woman,
A grown woman,
One who WON'T give me what I want just cause I want it woman.

He needs you woman,
A loving woman,
Non-trusting woman,
One who knows the difference between right and wrong woman.

I found a woman,
You're one of em,
So many love em,
You just need to see the places you can be woman.

Hear me woman,
Don't fear me woman,
You're near me woman,
We all face strife, gotta change yo life woman.

See me woman,
No fake or frontin,
Can't be me woman,
For I am a man and you need to be a WOMAN!
