Pink Letter

Dear Father,
To thee this letter
Is written with a child’s wonder.

Pink ink
On a fancy paper almost pink
Like a blush on a maiden’s cheek
Like rose abloom in mountain’s peak.

Pink letter in the hands of a child
Bears words innocent and mild
Glorifying the father who made all –
tame and wild.

Pink letter with heavenly scent
Pink ink that stays, not evanescent
Lasts in the heart of the child who writes
Too innocent to name wrong from right.

Dear Father,
To thee this letter
Is written with a child’s wonder.

Letter To A Soldier

Letter To A Soldier

A soldier got a letter, from the one he loved the most,
he looked at her new picture and he began to boast,
about his lovely wife and their kids back home,
which made all his buddies, think about their own,
when he was all alone, with her letter in his hand,
he thought about the love they had, and began to understand,
the reasons he had for fighting, and the sacrifices he had to make,
so the freedom of his family, no one could ever take,
he kissed the letter as though it was his wife,
it would have to do him, through all his pain and strife,
he kept the letter with him, right next to his heart,
as if it would protect him, during the battles he knew would start,
though many men were wounded, and some of them had died,
he kept the letter with him, it gave him strength inside,
the letter told him, all he had to know,
that his family missed him, and they loved him so,
so all you married ladies, with a husband in Iraq,
send him a little something everyday, until he finally does come back,
tell him about the children and the little things they do,
tell him how much you love him, you know he misses you,
soon this war will be over, and the killing all will end,
there will be a smile upon your face, when you welcome home,
YOUR BEST FRIEND.

His letter.

The letter has come at last.
You have been waiting for days.
You open the envelope with
Both excitement and anxiety
Gripping you tight. His script
Is as per norm: clear, well written
With that slanting at the end of words.
He hasn’t signed with love or left
Those flying bird kisses. You see
Meaning between words, not those
He’s written, but what it was he
Meant to say, but hasn’t. You skip
Words on matters trite. You read
Deeply on the words that mention
You or how he feels. You hold his
Letter tightly between fingers of
Both hands. The page shakes.
He doesn’t say he loves you or
Speak of that night of sexual passion.
You fold the letter carefully; place
It in the pocket of your dress. You
Gaze out the window at the passing
Crowds below. It isn’t what he writes
That troubles you, but what he leaves
Unsaid that brings you now so low.

Special Delivery

The postman got himself in to a bit of a mess:
And he delivered a letter to the wrong address.
The intended recipient would feel a lot better,
When, in her hand, she was holding the letter.

When she opened that letter, intended for her,
Emotions inside her would soon start to stir.
The letter had travelled across many a mile;
To her face, it would bring a great big smile.

The letter was from a soldier in Afghanistan:
Maybe it bore news from her beloved man?
I am sure that she cried when he was deployed.
Receiving the letter, she would be so overjoyed.

The light blue letter had travelled all that way;
I was sure it would make the young lady's day.
From her boyfriend she would be dying to hear;
Receiving his letter would bring her much cheer.

I imagined the message written from his heart,
Helping to bridge the gap, during their time apart.
I pictured him writing, while rockets flew overhead.
She would re-read many times, all that he had said.

Holding that letter, made me stop and think:
With that soldier, I felt a strange kind of link.
Looking at the envelope, I held in my hands,
Her emotions, I suddenly began to understand.

I thought about the couple's mix of emotions,
During their time, parted by the mighty oceans.
I thought about how he would wish he was here,
And how they had both shed some secret tears.

Hearing from him, she would cry tears of relief.
I bet he signed his name with kisses underneath.
To her, the letter would be a wonderful sight,
And she would sleep well in her bed that night.

Letter body

Everything is there in th letter
And the letter has no letter.
Your body is a letter
You have to read and float
And go further and further.

Are you feeling comfortable?
Have you ever enjoyed your sleep?
You are not at rest
And not seen your body yet
The most valuable gift given to you.

You have not kept the body
In good condition
And the body is taking your care
Read the body read the letter of the body
And go with the body to understand the letter
And make yourself ready to get the nector.

Now Life or death didn’t matter to me

I wrote a letter to her
Filled it with choicest words
Expressing
My love and desire for her
Full of hope
Kept waiting for days
Lost my peace, lost my sleep
Waiting for the postman
To bring a message from her
My heart pained
Anxiety increased
I did not hear from her
I didn’t know what to do
Kept praying to god
One day the postman came
The address was not correct he said
Returned the letter back to me
I decided to give my life away
Ran towards the river bridge
To jump into the river beneath
There I saw somebody jumped
Before I could
A letter was lying on the ground
I picked the letter
Read it with a heavy heart
To learn it was written by her
She ended her life
Waiting to hear from me
She could not contact me
As I had changed my house
I became a living, dead
Now Life or death
Didn’t matter to me

Your Dear John Letter

When you wrote me a letter
To tell me I'm better off without you

A tear ran down my face
I wiped it away
Before I thought anyone would see

I ripped the letter in little pieces
So no one would read it
But now I wished I didn't

I have nothing but your memory now
But that's slowly slipping away

And if you died
I probably wouldn't cry about it
Because I cried enough for you
In the last couple of years

I guess when you told me
I was better off in the letter
I didn't believe you then

But now I know
That best thing you ever did
Was to write the letter
That broke my heart that fateful day

A heart-throb and the go-between

The old man dropped his precious letter
into the isolated letter box
where it stands in the gravel road.
The notorious postman who tampers letters
comes very seldom to collect.
He found only one letter in the box
but no addressee and stamps too.
He opened the letter and read loudly.
' I am an old godforsaken man
but still not senile; good for nothing my dear.
This could be a giveaway for you.
If you read this I am sure you may excuse me.
Do you know about spiritual love?
Sometimes this letter will annoy you my sweetheart!
Take it easy honey as I am a dreamer.
I am lonely and frustrated
and I need someone with a goodwill
who comes and stay with me forever.
I'll offer you my old hammock
and I know thousands of stories
which I can read for you on full moon days
until you sleep quietly my darling.

The Letter

She retrieved the letter from the mail.
Seeing the handwriting
she grew instantly pale.
She'd not seen it for many years.
Seeing it again brought
back the tears.

Not one word that he had said
was lost in her,
inside her head.
Things were good for so long.
Remembering them again
seemed so wrong.

The letter sat on her desktop now.
Staring at it intently
she knew somehow
the letter was an attempt to rectify
blaming him alone
or even knowing why?

Two months passed and finally
she opened it. Her heart stood still.
For she did see
words of comfort, but words of woe.
'I'm sick my love
but before I go

I need to see you. Can you come?
I'm sorry my love.
What's done is done.'
He died while the letter
sat unread.
She kept the letter in her bed.

A Letter to my dear friend

I wrote a letter to my friend,
the other day
I had just
A few things
I finally decided to say
Inside the letter were
special thoughts and memories
Written down in just the right way
I also mentioned that
in my heart
these special and precious moments
will forever and always stay,
Also how truly sadden I was
That life's events
somehow went this way
As, I watched my beloved lifetime friend
Take a deep breath
for the very last time and
peacefully slipped away
After hearing all
I had heavyily on my heart and
Sincerely needed to say

I Once Wrote A Letter To My Girlfriend

many years ago i once wrote a love letter to my girlfriend
in Silliman University
in the City of Dumaguete, Philippines
and perhaps she really liked the way how the letter was written
(it was more of poetry than prose)
as i poured all my love and affection
like sweet real orange juice to a shiny glass
much to the liking of her innocent taste
her virginal frame of mind
for we were young then and she was so beautiful with her white
skin and tight body as i was also so handsome then
with my spanish mestizo looks and gentle disposition

(let me breathe for a while)

she decided to have the love letter read by all her dorm mates
it was passed from one hand to another and she was so proud of it
and she even framed it like it were the picture of a saint

(i learned it later)

i was pondering about my feelings, my secrets passed from one person
to another, my deepest emotions known by another
at first i felt that my privacy was violated, but on the other hand
i assured myself about the truth of said feelings, the authenticity of myself
relating to my dearest love, my one and only love, and then i felt free

it is the truth and i must not be ashamed of it
it is a beautiful feeling that the world must know and feel too

and as i recall it again now, i remember another woman, a poetess
and truly, i like her too, for spreading the truth about my real self and there is
no other, i take pride of myself and i take responsibility for what i am
and for all the poems that i have written.

Four Letter Word

Written by ricky & marty wilde
I tell ya
Its hell yeah
When love says goodbye its a four letter word
Because your heart knows
When love goes
The feeling is bad - its the pits of the world
Its sad but true
When nothing you can do, can bring it back
Standing in the rain
She starts to cry
Is it all a game
She wonders why
Why it had to start
Why should it end, and take her apart
Because she shows it
She knows it
But what can she do, its a four letter word
Because it shakes you
It breaks you
And when its the end, its the worst thing you heard
Its over now
And nothing you can do can bring it back
Calling out his name
She starts to cry
Guys are all the same
She wants to die
Hide away the tears
No-one will see, and no-one must hear
But oh
How can the love that she has be profain
And how can something thats so beautiful
Just jeckyl and hyde around
Its so sad...
I tell ya
Its hell yeah
When love says goodbye
Its a four letter word
Because your heart knows
When love goes
The feeling is bad
Its the worst in the world
Its sad but true
When nothing you can do, can get it back
Standing in the rain
She starts to cry
Shouting out is name
Four letter words

I Fought with the Alphabet

My English teacher said; ' A sentence should start with a capital letter.'
I opposed and she detained me out of the class.
One day I sent her a letter; My dearest Love
'L' with capital.
Since that day she is very kind to me.
But still I am a simple letter.
