A closed mouth catches neither flies nor food.
Nothing Catches Jesus By Surprise
Catching babe ruth catching roger marist
The way you caught my eye in paris, tennisee.
Fell in seduction; well Im seduced.
You sell a war then we sell the truth.
Its the truth.
So baby just close your eyes nothing catches jesus by surprise
Confusin love for heated passion,
Got what I want but no satisfaction.
Aint it funny how things can change.
Were amazed how they stay the same.
So baby just close your eyes nothing catches jesus by surprise
[musical interlude]
You look so pretty when you smile.
I havent seen that for a while.
Talk about trouble, weve had our share.
Its a wonder were still here.
I dont know why I make you cry
Its a part of me I dont like at all.
So baby just close your eyes nothing catches jesus by surprise

Landing
Thick black soul
Moving slow, moving close to you
This life I don't know
It seems kinda sick to me
Hold each other tight
Walking through to my destiny
This glitter in my eye
Catches light catches sympathy
This glitter in my eye
Catches light catches sympathy
Your lips are moving but I can't hear what you say
Stars are falling but you still feel the same way
This shield
What is real
Is believing
(Ha-ha-ha-aaa)

Honors
When the column of light on the waters is glassed,
As blent in one glow seem the shine and the stream;
But wave after wave through the glory has passed,
Just catches, and flies as it catches, the beam
So honors but mirror on mortals their light;
Not the man but the place that he passes is bright.

When the conduct of men is designed to be influenced, persuasion, kind unassuming persuasion, should ever be adopted. It is an old and true maxim that 'a drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall.' So with men. If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend. Therein is a drop of honey that catches his heart, which, say what he will, is the great highroad to his reason, and which, once gained, you will find but little trouble in convincing him of the justice of your cause, if indeed that cause is really a good one.

A drop of honey catches more flies than a hogshead of vinegar.
One catches more flies with a spoonful of honey than with twenty casks of vinegar.

The cobweb pretends to catch dew-drops and catches flies.

The Green Starling
When you look at the green starling
it screams in the long grass,
gleams green in the morning dew
and catches your eye
as it comes out of a hole, out of a tree,
as it picks up insects at a small stream
as it comes out,
as it comes out
as if caught in your daydream.
When you look at the green starling
it sparkles here and there
as if it sometimes is holding onto rays
and it warbles
stretches out under the sun,
view it as a red balloon
stretches out
stretches out
and it would fly away if it could.
When you look at the green starling
it pecks at a sorrel
when at times it holds onto a big worm
before it sings a song of joy
flies up fluttering, spreading its wings
and for moments distract you,
flies up fluttering
flies up fluttering
and so a whole mornings swishes past.

The red weaver
The red weaver flies from a plate of bulrush
dances on a branch while it slap its red wings,
walking whistling to and thro,
before it whispers twittering deep in the reeds.
It flutters around draws sparks through the air,
swoops down at it's weaved nest
with a beak full of grass, twigs or some hay,
flies up and down and suddenly back.
There is something pretty to it that catches the eye
when through the blue sky it draws a glowing line,
when early in the morning it awakes me
when it hangs twittering at its small nest,
the red weaver flies from a plate of bulrush
before it whispers twittering deep in the reeds.

The Golden Frog
Down by the river on a water log
Came jumping a golden frog
He sits on a little lily pad
He catches flies and he's never sad
Then one day a lizard came
He was hot all over and frog was the same
Now frog is happy because he has a friend
And they share a fly shake blend

Mouth Almighty
This town belongs to you and your tricks of confidence
All the pavements for miles around are littered with your footprints
Now every girl I get close to seems to be wearing your perfume
And the clock strikes the letters of your name
Both midnight and noon
But I used to shoot my mouth off
Till youd had enough of me
Once or twice nightly
I know Ive got my faults
And among them I cant control my tongue
But if you didnt believe me
Why did you have to leave me
With my mouth almighty
Mouth almighty thats what Ive got
Mouth almighty telling you whats what
Mouth almighty
I wish Id never opened my mouth almighty
So I threw away the rose and held onto the thorn
Crawling round with my crooner cufflinks and my calling card cologne
But the realization of being replaced starts to tell tales across my face
Without a soul to talk to or a hair out of place

I want to fly!
yes, you do.
where do you want to go?
i am looking for a new home
how does one grow wings?
i want to fly...
it is the most quiet conversation.
the man begs to understand
why the mouth he is blest with does not take the shape of a beak.
the bird sings of many lands
the man has not yet been to
the little brown bird's heart is a ray of sun
but the man does not know
inside the wars are all in the making
outside it is still calm
the bird and the man kiss
the bird flies
the man falls asleep
the man flies
the bird is dead.

I Never Meant To Do That Thing For You
Close your sad eyes Layla
and let your feelings wash away,
Bring up nothing more than what you want to say,
So close those sad eyes Baby,
realize your way,
I hope it all passes by my love,
and hope you it flies away
Now close your sad eyes girl,
and forget about that sad day.
