Moja Jutra

Moja jutra su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Tu svićem tu zanoćim
Ponoćno dišem
Tešku tminu raznosim
Zvijezdama je brišem

Moja jutra su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Tu svjetlošću puta
Hranim sive gladi
Stojim nesvrgnuta
Gdje riječ mi se gradi

Moja su jutra
Jutra moga sutra
Bjelinomispisuju
Noći tihe magle
Plavim ispisuju
Što ruke su takle

Teret jedne strasti
U osvitu pjene
Jutrom ću potkrasti
Sopstvene zjene
Da svako bijelo prividom gine
Zlatom se optoči i suncem sine
U znak moga jutra
U jutro moga sutra

The Chicken Tore Me Up

as i began to tear into
the braised chicken breast
a pang of pain suddenly struck;
this satiation of greed
with the wanton abuse
of freedom on another creation.
the buddhist sutra i read
kept coming back to torment my mind.
for a second or two,
my chewing lost momentum.
for another minute or so
i saw faces, women and men
behind the little tempting
bundle of soya sauce delight.
there were cries, there were laughters.
in another life we could have
been friends, relatives or even
father and son.
the part eaten turned heavy on
my heart, tore me up
right to my conscience.

Body Is A Temple

They say your body is a temple, and I found
This to be true, for in my temple I found you.
I felt your soul surround me like a mist
On a foggy day, and right then I knew
That in my heart forever you would stay.

My body is a temple and
You are the foundation
you control my heart
And every sensation.

Now this temple had become a temple of two
For it belonged to me and you.
We built this temple for all the world to see
That thru love this is the way it should be.

When you’ve shared the most precious
Moments that GOD did provide
When not on all topics did we see eye to eye
When in sickness you was the comforting stone
And you know that you’re not alone.

When that temple seems to be falling apart
And you‘ve lost all hope in your heart.
When it seems like you have no other place to go
And your thoughts are moving slow
That is when you turn to the lord above
To show you how to rekindle that love.

The body is a temple and in it I found you
And with your strength I know what I have to do.
I will rebuild this temple with the love of my life
For you are my partner, my lover, my wife.

Realization

A pleasing fragrance from an altar
the mountain top temple.
The old priest incense is burned in worship.
His chant of Sutra floating in the wind
like an old mother's lullaby.
The saffron robe waves over the thatched house
and the bell tolls with the moon set.
I thought the time has come
and I take his place when he leaves.

Mary, my little girl, was confirmed in a Buddhist temple. She saw the Life write up on Buddhism, with pictures of the ceremony, and she said she wanted to be confirmed there because she only liked Jesus as a kid. She was a little disappointed in him when he grew up.

Quatrain #224 - If the body is the Temple of God

If the body is the Temple of God then the inner chamber is a pure loving heart;
the thoughts of the mind the steps to the altar, the fires of devotion are the art.
Our field of activity is the Temple grounds, how we relate to each other the fellowship;
living in tune with God is our communion, sacrificing our false nature the true worship.

You Learn

I recommend getting your heart trampled on to anyone
I recommend walking around naked in your living room
Swallow it down (what a jagged little pill)
It feels so good (swimming in your stomach)
Wait until the dust settles

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

I recommend biting off more then you can chew to anyone
I certainly do
I recommend sticking your foot in your mouth at any time
Feel free
Throw it down (the caution blocks you from the wind)
Hold it up (to the rays)
You wait and see when the smoke clears

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

Wear it out (the way a three-year-old would do)
Melt it down (you're gonna have to eventually anyway)
The fire trucks are coming up around the bend

You live you learn
You love you learn
You cry you learn
You lose you learn
You bleed you learn
You scream you learn

You grieve you learn
You choke you learn
You laugh you learn
You choose you learn
You pray you learn
You ask you learn
You live you learn

Live And Learn

[INTRO:]
(Live and learn)
Don't be afraid to
Do what you must do
(Live and learn)
[1a:]
You can never undo
Whatever's been done
You're so afraid
That true love may never come
Maybe tomorrow will bring
Happiness in
And in a little while
You could learn to smile
Again, oh, oh
But never give up
That's a big mistake
Be true to your heart
And even if it breaks
You can still
[1b:]
Love another day
Find another way
Take a little time
And you could find
That one day your heart
Will have a home
[CHORUS:]
Live and learn
When the morning comes
You'll see things in a different light
Give a little time
Don't be afraid to
Do what you must do
It's all up to you
To live and learn
[2:]
What's done is done
Past is past
You can look around
But you can never go back, keep on
Living your life
Living it right
Take a little time
And you could find
That one day your heart
Will have a home
[CHORUS:]
To live and learn
(Don't be afraid to
Do what you must do
It's all up to you)
Don't be afraid to
Do what you must do
It's all up to you
(Don't be afraid to
Do what you must do
It's all up to you)
To live and learn
[1b:]
[CHORUS:]
[repeat 2 times]

Today... 'The Cornerstone

Rejected of men for being too good
we crucified you on a cross of wood
But Your Father had other plans for You
for the temple was to be built anew

A building not made of rock or of stone
but one made up of Christians alone
Built of people saved by the grace of God
the Cornerstone is Jesus Christ the Lord

A great temple not built by human skill
but made up of those who follow God's will
The living temple of Your body Lord
because its' builder and maker is God

To build it the old temple had to go
through death so that You could raise it up so.
This is marvellous in our sight O Lord
One in Christ we are the temple of God.

Ode to Houses of Worship

my heart just refuses to be bound
i walk into the hindu temple
to savour the myriad manifestations
of the formless God, who can take any form

i walk into a buddhist temple
knowing that all the manifestations
wont help us one bit if we dont help ourselves
to heaven, nirvana, syurga, tiang tang
God can be a wine we lose our mind in
if we do not take him in the right way
whom we go to favours without fail
draining the blood of a thousand animals
in the mad scamble for favours in this sin laden realm
forgetting the task to liberate ourselves
buddha's wise dharma has brought us to our senses
that the soul is our responsibility and ours alone God or no God
and animals cannot walk us to God
if we dont even have a heart for them

I walk into a Christian Church
knowing that the love of God knows no bound
that as much as we sacrifice for him
he too would be ready to sacrifice for us

i walk into a mosque
knowing that there is but One God
a formless Spirit that dwells in us all
that listens and talks to us day in day out
dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn anywhere, any time
that all the earth can be burnt down to
just one simple thing - ash
because we all come from one source,
one nature and One God

i walk away with an open heart
knowing that i have read all the scriptures
with an open heart, knowing that if the heart is closed
to words of love, of kindness, to men to animals
that if i have a heart closed to all these
heaven's doors too will be close when i am there

Allah supports Muslim in Burma.

Those martyrs are bold and brave,
Allah! You are only One who can save.
Send your angels to sustain,
Courage, courage is to obtain,
Allah sends volcanoes, tempests, earthquake,
You have a superpower, It's quick,
Muslim in Burma needs support,
The fact can abuse and distort,
Buddhist are terrorist,
Heartless, slaying are the worst,
Allah you are the fair,
Buddhist can't deserve to breathe the air.
The Massacres are carried out,
Allah! for Buddhist! wipe them out.
Allah sends the angels to demolish,
The cries of mother can't finish.

A Buddhist Monk Ruined My Life

I'll never forget the day a Buddhist monk ruined my life
All were excited for our class field trip
I walked into his humble temple and was introduced to him
His smile - radiant
His eyes - welcoming
Living so happily with so little
Such righteous convictions
Such impeccable morals
In the belly of the giant golden Buddha
I saw everything wrong with my life
My greed
My gluttony
My lust
My envy
My melancholy
My wrath
My pride
The cardinal vices that defined my existence
And trampled on his noble eightfold path
The seven deadly sins I accepted as human nature
Purged
So effortlessly
My heart was heavy - consumed with loathing and lament
A pile of straw peasant hats laid in the corner were stolen by my classmates
Tien! Your hats! They are gone!
Again - he looked at me with pureness that glowed

Then our heads will get wet - he said

And smiled

Up Er Mei

Notes:
Jt on sony.com: er mei is a mountain in china (sechuan province). before the cultural revolution there were maybe 100 buddhist shrines, temples, etc. on the way to the summit which usually pokes
Ugh the clouds like an island in the sea.
Sally and I went there to meet ben in 93 (he was traveling out of tibet). it took three days to climb the many miles of stone steps carved centuries ago into the living rock of the mountain. at
Time, I might as well have been on the stairmaster at jack lalane on broadway and 76th.
We were walking in paradise
Never did notice
Blind in the buddha land
Looking for solace
We had been told of a place
Far beyond this vale of tears
We could never have guessed
We were already blessed
There we were, where we are
In the garden
Didnt we climb on up er mei
Temple to temple
Yes and all and all along the way
The day was simple
Didnt we reach the top
Didnt we gain our goal
Did we finally stop
Surprised by the cold
We were walking in paradise
Never did tumble
Blind in the buddha land
Looking for trouble
We had been told of a place
Far beyond this vale of tears
We could never have guessed
We were already blessed
There we were, where we are
In the garden

Learn

when broken
learn
when happy
learn
when bored
learn
when you float and does not know what to do
learn just the same
when filled with idealism
learn
when fed with what you cannot swallow
learn again
when the times get rough and you want to kill yourself
learn, learn, learn
you still have many things to learn
faces of life
bodies of life
learn, learn, learn everything
do not surrender

for in truth, you do not do what you only want
you will also do what you are told to do
no questions asked
or you will be left out
or you will be not a part of the picture
this life
learn, learn, learn, always learn
do not surrender
live, learn, live, learn
you will soon do all that others will tell you
learn, learn and learn again

and sooner you will have learned everything
and then do what you want to do
with firm conviction
you know now what is right
and that is what you will do,

now without even being told
you have become yourself

but still learn, learn, and learn again
because

you might be wrong,
try thinking some more, learn
relearn, learn, learn, learn, forevermore....

Shonin

These eyes have seen the fire from the sky
I felt the heat a thousand clicks away
At first no screams, just people turned to shadows
A sunburst touched to earth one fatal day.

These eyes have seen my City turned to ashes
I have heard her women sobbing in despair
I stood alone amidst my city dying
No God above to whom I’d make a prayer..

And now I stand before a Buddhist temple
A different city and a river view.
This city seems most beautiful and vibrant
Hiroshima what has become of you?

The historic statue of Shinran Shonin, founder of the Judo Shinshu school of Buddhism, now stands in front of the New York Buddhist Church on Riverside Drive in New York City.. This statue of Shinran Shonin survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, in which 150,000 people died, and 90 percent of the buildings in the city collapsed or burned.

Where Does My Heart Truly Lie Now? ? ?

waking up this morning, , ,
trying to search and feel my heart, , ,
can my heart still feel, , ,
will it still be able to recognize such feelings, , ,

with all the hurt i'm feeling right now, , ,
with all the questions arising from deep within, , ,
all my confusions, , , all my unuttered longings, ,
will it all have the answers that it need, ,

oh my heart, , my so fragile heart, , , ,
why do we need to fall, , and be hurt in the end, ,
and yet, , why do we let our heart go thru it, , ,
over and over and over again, ,

when will we ever learn, , ,
when will our heart ever learn, , ,
will it ever learn, , not to fall, , , ,
will it ever learn to be wise, ,

oh my heart, , , my so fragile heart, , ,
where will all this emotions bring u, , ,
will u have the strength to carry on, , ,
when will u ever have the the right to speak, ,
and say, , , enough, ,
where, , ,
where will my heart lie now, , ,
