I make a film like I cook for friends. I hope they like it, but if they don't, I'm prepared to enjoy it all by myself.

History is written by the winners. The books say the Indians were bad guys and the whites just needed a little land. It's like, Excuse me, let me take your car. I'm discovering it. I'm putting my flag on your windshield.

Have Patience
there is so much noise
on the surface of things
like a very shallow river
its waters always arguing
with all the rocks
and even with the peebles
it lashes its tongue
on every bank that
it passess
without
listening
farther away is the wisdom
of silence
the patience of the depths
and its dangers
to swallow those who
are reckless
to compel the noise
to submit
to its final poise
forever, the quiet
rest, resignation, death.

The Inability To Accept Change
we always want the comfort of what is here with us
not taking the risk of what lies ahead
we fear the coming of things new and uncertain
this is what we are, and what we want to be
we refuse change, we doubt innovations,
we are solid as a rock, we are as hardheaded as the stones
we settle as peebles, we stick as moss
and the river leaves us on its important journey
we have never the chance to see the wonders of the deep blue sea
we are the inanimates, we are the unwanted of the earth
the drifting clouds hate us, the changing winds despise us
yet we are the majority, and oh yes, we are very happy

On The Beach
the sun is up.
the peebles are hot.
the trees are brewing their greens
to the pluffy blue clouds.
we huddle together on a
thatch-roofed hut by the shore.
the waves splash on the
side of the big rock.
the sands gleam
some diamond sparks
the horizon is silvery
the cove curves beyond us
a little farther
a nude man approaches
another nude woman
and they run towards the
blue waters of the sea
we watch. This is new.
This is happening
in this country.
we watch closely.
and then the clouds
turn gray. The rain comes.
some leaks on the roof
of this hut. We listen.
We still have too much
to really learn.
we pretend we are
innocent about what is
happening.

Strange Meeting Ii
Deep down in the depths of forgotten dreams
So far away so long ago it seems
The memory comes of a distant beach
Pale sand stretching far from reach
It was then I found my princess of the sand.
As I traced the foam, peebles beneath my feet
I looked behind, I saw this one so sweet
She came to me and I saw in her eyes
The heavy toll of a thousand eyes
I called her my princess of the sand.
She stared at me and my mind was in a maze
As we moved along in a summer sea-dream haze
She moved her mouth but there came no sound
The message she brought can never be found
But I called her my princess of the sand.
One moment we walked with the night breeze in our face
Then I looked, shed gone. of her presence there was no trace
Where she went or came from who can know
Or if shell ever return to help me know
Who she is, my princess of the sand.
Sometime when the summer nights come back
Ill go back to the sea, follow that sandy track
Ill look around, hope to find
That strange young dream, close behind
Ill call her my princess of the sand.

Maya Love
Maya love - maya love,
Maya love is like the sea
Flowing in and out of me
Maya love - maya love,
Maya love is like the day
First it comes, then it rolls away
Maya love - maya love,
Maya love is like the wind
Blowing hard on everything
Maya love - maya love,
Maya love is like the rain
Beating on your window brain
Maya love - maya love,
Maya love is like the stream
Flowing through this cosmic dream

What Really Happened
at 80
the monk who left the monastery in Utah
and who gave me a book about The Preacher's Daughter
always remembers names
like fr. Fabian
or fr. Lucas or
fr. Damian
when we arrive there
and i am patient as he is deaf
and
agonizing & he asks me to call and check if fr. Fabian is still there
he was there in 2000
and the year after fr. Fabian sent him a card
the cellphone rings and fr Bruno asks who am i
and i pretended to be
Ron, the old monk who is with me now
tracing his past
trying to look for fr. Fabian who died in Polomolok
and he wants to know the cause of death
fr Bruno says
nothing about asphyxiation but that is the lie that
i told Ron
and his face changed like an afternoon
and i can feel
that it was heavily raining
that is what happened

MAya Maya
she came a long way to me
but I found her in my heart

but I found her in my soul
she came a long way alone
but she was in; always with me
maya maya she was always indeep
she danced for me
she rose a dream;
for me
she broke the sound
of groan in me
for me
she was a hope
for me
she sang her songs
for me
and gave the freedom
her sound to me
maya the voice of freedom
for me
maya a sound out for me

Birthday Talk For A Child
(IRIS.)
DADDY dear, I'm only four
And I'd rather not be more:
Four's the nicest age to be--
Two and two, or one and three.
All I love is two and two,
Mother, Fabian, Paul and you;
All you love is one and three,
Mother, Fabian, Paul and me.
Give your little girl a kiss
Because she learned and told you this.

This may be a dream, but I'll say it anyway: I was supposed to be married last year, and I bought a gown. When I meet Nelson Mandela, I shall put on this gown and have the train of it removed and put aside, and kiss the ground that he walks on and then kiss his feet.

Morgana Le Fay
Many mystic stories about the Lady Morgana are told
About her being a priestesses intelligent and very bold
Ahead of her time she may've been the Merlin's student
She had a child with her brother Arthur and was prudent
Her oratory was artistically defined powerfull and strong
During her life time she already was a legend and had a song
Living in the mists of Avalon she was a fairy and very small
Brooding over the powers of King Arthur one can recall
She used manipulative methods that were underhanded
She danced naked under the moon when the craft demanded
Morgana was beautiful with long black hair and fair skin
She used her sexuality combined with magic to surely win
Morgana inflicted pain and destruction while being daring
She demanded the crown and kingdom no word of sharing
Morgana so different from the more popular Guinevere
Caused the King's adultery as Camille with results severe
But later she remains with the king her brother until his death
Escorting him on his final trip to Avalon in great distress
The stories of strong women of past times and generations
Causing men to shiver and voice doubts fears and allegations
How Morgana would be observed during modern times today
We can't say because what she did would still be foul play
So Morgana remains a mystery and her life's forces unclear
We may look at her as a first feminist - kind of as a pioneer
