Some scientists are so absent minded that they can’t remember where they left their ethics.

One could not be a successful scientist without realizing that, in contrast to the popular conception supported by newspapers and mothers of scientists, a goodly number of scientists are not only narrow-minded and dull, but also just stupid.

Absent-Minded Rabbit

Take me into the forest and,
Show me an absent-minded rabbit who wears seven pairs of gloves;
Take me to the zoo and,
Show me an absent-minded rabbit who wears seven pairs of gloves;
This will sound like fun at bedtime but,
What kind of fundamental rights do i have on this earth?
For i have to defy nationality and culture boundaries for this love.
It is funny when you are not globally competitive,
But i have to listen to the lecturers at times;
And with seemingly irreconcilable differences,
For i have to show them my status.

Our Absent Friends

We often speak about
the fun we used to have
whenever we retrace our memories,
remembering our absent friends.

We remember our growing years,
the smiles on our faces
and the funny things we did
with our absent friends.

As the years roll on their way
and age creeps up on us
we sometimes like to reflect
on our long gone absent friends.

The flower of youth has withered,
but the flower never died.
It is still locked in our memory
when we remember our absent friends.

The Absent-Minded Beggar

When you've shouted ' Rule Britannia,' when you've sung ' God save the Queen,'
When you've finished killing Kruger with your mouth,
Will you kindly drop a shilling in my little tambourine
For a gentleman in khaki ordered South?
He's an absent-minded beggar, and his weaknesses are great -
But we and Paul must take him as we find him -
He is out on active service, wiping something off a slate
And he's left a lot of little things behind him!
Duke's son - cook's son - son of a hundred kings
(Fifty thousand horse and foot going to Table Bay!)
Each of 'em doing his country's work
(and who's to look after their things?)
Pass the hat for your credit's sake, and pay - pay - pay !
There are girls he married secret, asking no permission to,
For he knew he wouldn't get it if he did.
There is gas and coals and vittles, and the house-rent falling due,
And its more than rather likely there’s a kid.
There are girls he’s walked with casual. They’ll be sorry now he’s gone,
For an absent-minded beggar they will find him,
But it ain’t the time for sermons with the winter coming on
We must help the girl that Tommy’s left behind him!
Cook's son - Duke's son - son of a belted Earl
Son of a Lambeth publican - it's all the same to-day !
Each of 'em doing his country's work
(and who's to look after the girl?)
Pass the hat for your credit's sake, J1 and pay - pay - pay !

There are families by thousands, far too proud to beg or speak,
And they'll put their sticks and bedding up the spout,
And they'll live on half o' nothing, paid 'em punctual once a week,
'Cause the man that earns the wage is ordered out.
He's an absent-minded beggar, but he heard his country call,
And his reg'rnent didn't need to send to find him!
He chucked his job and joined it - so the job before us all
Is to help the home that Tommy's left behind him !
Duke's job - cook's job - gardener, baronet, groom.
Mews or palace or paper-shop, there's someone gone away!
Each of 'em doing his country's work
(and who's to look after the room?)
Pass the hat for your credit's sake, and pay - pay - pay !

Let us manage so as, later, we can look him in the face,
And tell him - what he'd very much prefer
That, while he saved the Empire, his employer saved his place,
And his mates (that's you and me) looked out for her.
He's an absent-minded beggar and he may forget it all,
But we do not want his kiddies to remind him
That we sent 'em to the workhouse while their daddy hammered Paul,
So we'll help the homes that Tommy left behind him !
Cook's home - Duke's home - home of a millionaire,
(Fifty thousand horse and foot going to Table Bay !)
Each of 'em doing his country's work
(and what have you got to spare?)
Pass the hat for your credit's sake, and pay - pay - pay!

What Will You Do Then?

Do you remember the day,
When you said we would be friends forever?

Do you remember the day,
When you said no one could never replace me, ever?

Do you remember the day,
When you said you would always be by my side?

Do you remember the day,
When you left me, and I cried?

Do you remember the day,
When you became popular, and left me behind?

Do you remember the day,
When I pretended I didn't mind?

Do you remember the day,
When YOU got left behind?

Do you remember the day,
When you couldn't see straight, you were blind?

Do you remember the day,
When I guided you through it all?

Do you remember the day,
When I helped you so you wouldn't fall?

Do you remember the day,
When you turned on me once again?

Can you fortell the day,
When you will fall, again, what will you do then?

Absent Friends

As a year closes,
we always stop for a moment
to remember absent and departed friends.
We raise a glass
and tip our hat
in remembering absent and departed friends.
Life’s highway is a short one
and somewhere it comes to an end,
but friends are not forgotten
they live on in our memory.
And once a year we remember
before the New Year starts
our absent and departed friends.

Remember When..

remember when i would cry
remember when you would just pass by
remember when you left
remember when i was blessed
remember when you left me
remember my whole family
remember your doughters and your sons
remember that they are not the only ones
remember all the trauma you caused
remember when our paths were crossed
remember when you wanted to say good bye
my world shattered because you were to me a nice mom.
i dont think you will remember this
because this might seem like nonsense.

Lust versus Ethics

Lust never rests
Between two souls
But tends to crossfire.

She drew to me closer
While at work we were.
There were under-currents
Deep in the placid ocean.

She feigned her presence
Propelled by Lust,
But refrained from advance,
Repelled by Ethics.

Be merry, Lust lured;
Be virtuous, Ethics warned.
Is she to give in or not?
Lust and Ethics were at war.

I felt her and smelt her
But bent not to taste her,
Yet it is as much worth
As if she was tasted.

A flower when smelt
Is not spoilt but is, when plucked.
So she is not abducted.
Lust and Ethics were at par.

Who Is There Left to Remember?

WHO IS THERE LEFT TO REMEMBER?

Who is there left to remember?
My parents, my brother, all my aunts and uncles gone-
My sister in another world.

In our imagination and prayers
The sky opens and souls enter
Singing praise
Our loved ones are saved forever.

But on the ground
Where we are now
All that they have been-

Who is there left to remember
The lives the world we had?

I alone am left to remember
And I alone will never remember enough.

I Rememer, .

I Remember, ..

I Remember, seeing cops take you away.
I Remember, it was just the 3 of us.
I Remember, going to see you.
I Remember, talking to you ALL the time.
I Remember, telling you ' I love you.'
I Remember saying, ' Daddy, i miss you.'
I Remember, when you packed your bags.
I Remember you, holding your new born child.
I Remember, when you left me.
I Remember when, i told you i hated you.
I Remember, when i met HIM.
I Remember, when HE called me HIS daughter.
I Remember, HE took your place.
I Remember when, I told HIM ' Dad, i love you.'
I Remember now, im not YOUR daughter, ..
IM HIS.

Dusts.................

i was once a worm
people look at me with anticipation
and then i became a fly
the good people did not swat me
and then i turn into
a donkey
oh, the children had fun
riding on my back
and then i turn into a
horse,
men love me,
and then i turn into
a man,
oh, the demands are too many
i have to read
the codes of humanity
ethics, philosophy
science, logic,
and then i become old
and turn into
a rotten flesh
where all the worms are
having fun eating me
and i remember joy
and freedom
and being not minded at all
deep in the dark
underground

back to worms, i sensed
that i am complete

and then i must turn to dust
and then
i have become
so perfect

in the solitude of my tiny strains
in the peace of
the grave
where we all started and then
must end.....dusts....dusts....

A View Of Samal Island

between Samal Island
and myself

a moon sitting
on the sea
a golden sheen
spread
like a pedestal
of light

and then
a big ship passes by
marring
my view

i hear no sound
absent minded
i am always thinking
about someone else

always far from me

Absent From Routine

Absent but not of mind.
Too protective of precious consciousness,
Peace of mind and happiness.
Absent from nonsense.
Professed and not guessed.
And not seeking any to find.
To torment like the rest.
Absent from routine,
And thoughts of wasting time.
Absent from props used for chaos.
And those creating it to market!
As if this is a goldmine.
And the grease of sleaze,
Is there to slop it not stop it!
