Betrothal

Both your hands? . . . What mean they, dear?
I, unworthy,— dare I claim you?
Then, against the world, I hold you:
Mine—forever mine!

Men have waked from dreams of joy:
Teach me to believe this rapture!
Lift your eyes! O my beloved,
Let me read your heart!

Is it true? . . . Ah, me! those eyes!
How divinely kind!—how tender!
Doubt itself could not distrust them,
Or resist their light!

Dear, without you, I have been
Poorer than the humblest beggar
Who against your door at nightfall
Kneeling, asked for bread:

I have gazed upon your face
And have felt such fear oppress me
That I trembled. From this moment,
Nothing fear I more!

For whatever perils come,
Nothing henceforth can divide us;
Neither follies nor ambitions—
Neither joys nor tears:

Never can you go so far
That my love shall fail to find you;
Seeking ever to deserve you,
Upward striving still;

And though seas should lie between,
I shall feel that you are near me:
In the twilight and night-season
I shall hear your voice.

Happy

When I look at you
I know what you say is true.
When I hear your voice
I know I made the right choice.
When I smell your smell
I remember how hard I fell.
When I feel your touch
I know why I love you so much.
When I feel your arms around me
I melt into you softly.
When I feel your hand in mine
I know everything will be just fine.
When I feel your kiss
I know exactly what I will miss.
When I look into your eyes
I know you will tell me no lies.
When I know you're near
I have no fear.
When I sense you're around
Nothing can bring me down.
When I hear your name
I feel my face enflame.
When you just appear
I feel this uncontrollable want for you, my dear.
When I touch your skin
I feel this electricity within.
When I'm with you I always smile,
I feel wonderful just getting to sit with you for awhile.
When you rub my feet
I feel my heart skip a beat.
When I hear you speak
I feel my legs go weak.
When I touch your lips with mine
I feel a tingle run down my spine.
When I think of us together
I want us to remain that way forever.
When we talk or you're with me
I feel so incredibly happy.

Premonition

DEAR heart, good-night!
Nay, list awhile that sweet voice singing
When the world is all so bright,
And the sound of song sets the heart a-ringing,
Oh, love, it is not right—
Not then to say, 'Good-night.'
Dear heart, good-night!
The late winds in the lake weeds shiver,
And the spray flies cold and white.
And the voice that sings gives a telltale quiver —
'Ah, yes, the world is bright,
But, dearest heart, good-night!'
Dear heart, good-night!
And do not longer seek to hold me!
For my soul is in affright
As the fearful glooms in their pall enfold me.
See him who sang how white
And still; so, dear, good-night.
Dear heart, good-night!
Thy hand I'll press no more forever,
And mine eyes shall lose the light;
For the great white wraith by the winding river
Shall check my steps with might.
So, dear, good-night, good-night!

Secrecy Protested.

FEAR not, dear love, that I'll reveal
Those hours of pleasure we two steal ;
No eye shall see, nor yet the sun
Descry, what thou and I have done.
No ear shall hear our love, but we
Silent as the night will be ;
The god of love himself (whose dart
Did first wound mine and then thy heart),
Shall never know that we can tell
What sweets in stol'n embraces dwell.
This only means may find it out ;
If, when I die, physicians doubt
What caused my death, and there to view
Of all their judgements which was true,
Rip up my heart, oh ! then, I fear,
The world will see thy picture there.

Sonnets to my love

I. My woman among a world of women

My woman among a world of women,
I wonder when will I see you again?

You who live in every dream,
as part of me
and time is rushing by and my hope
grows dimmer like the winter sun
in the cold sky.

At night the darkness covers me
and the moon glitters bleak
and even it grows weak
while I long for you
and even my consciousness
declares that maybe
I am waiting in vain.

II. I wish I could remember

I wish I could remember in detail
the first time that we met
the glance in your eyes
when you saw me.

Was it May, June, July
or maybe October?

I cannot recollect
what time of year
not even which season
but from the very start
I held you dear and that first hug
when I held you near
brought tears to your eyes,
or was it mine?

III. In dreams you are still with me

In dreams you are still with me
and in every dream
your dear face I see

and every night I dream on
of you and me being one
and when waking
with the sun braking through
the windowpane in the early morning
you are gone

and still somehow
it’s as if I can smell
your lingering perfume
just as if you spent
the night here with me.

IV. From the first moment I loved you

From the first moment
I loved you

construing how you felt
from your voice, what you said
to me and your actions
even if you might not
feel the same

but tough at times
you are not sure of your feelings
you were then
and we became one
and I dwelt in your eyes
trying to find your soul
and to bind with it.

V. Today I pray for you

Today I pray for you
not only to be true to me
but to have God dwell in your heart
for Him to keep you well,
to shadow you in every thing that you do.

Today I pray that every word
and every deed be blessed,
that every poetic line you write,
every brush stroke that you make
and every time you take the guitar
in your hands
be a great delight to others
and that they see you
in the greatness that I know.

VI. Your rebuke I have not earned

Your rebuke I have not earned,
just gave my sincere opinion
about something that I read
which you wanted me to
and neither were my words
aimed at you.

What should shine through
my lines is how much
I love and miss you

but more so
my love for the creator God
which comes first
in all that I do
even superseding you.

VII. If love is something sure

If love is something sure
between the two of us,
will you go away?

If love links you to me,
will you go astray,
be swept to another shore?

Love me and love me more
before it is too late
and destiny makes it impossible.

Love me as an equal
or let it be and loosen
the raging winds
to devour the citadel,
the castle of our dreams.

Hymn 70

Christ inviting, and the church answering the invitation.

SS 2:14-17.

[Hark! the Redeemer from on high
Sweetly invites his fav'rites nigh;
From caves of darkness and of doubt,
He gently speaks, and calls us out.

"My dove, who hidest in the rock,
Thine heart almost with sorrow broke,
Lift up thy face, forget thy fear,
And let thy voice delight mine ear.

"Thy voice to me sounds ever sweet;
My graces in thy count'nance meet;
Though the vain world thy face despise,
'Tis bright and comely in mine eyes."

Dear Lord, our thankful heart receives
The hope thine invitation gives;
To thee our joyful lips shall raise
The voice of prayer and of praise.]

[I am my Love's, and he is mine;
Our hearts, our hopes, our passions join;
Nor let a motion, nor a word,
Nor thought, arise to grieve my Lord.

My soul to pastures fair he leads,
Amongst the lilies where he feeds
Amongst the saints, whose robes are white,
Washed in his blood, is his delight.

Till the day break, and shadows flee,
Till the sweet dawning light I see,
Thine eyes to me-ward often turn,
Nor let my soul in darkness mourn.

Be like a hart on mountains green,
Leap o'er the hills of fear and sin;
Nor guilt nor unbelief divide
My Love, my Savior, from my side.]

Its That Fear

It's that fear
Ooo very scary! !
I bet you don't know it
Keeps you worried

It's that fear...
Very loud in your ear..
But not everyone could hear

It's that fear
Why? Y u even here
Leaving people in tears..

It's that fear
Born and raised
Can be of denial
Struggles, family or revival

It's that fear
That keeps consuming..
Consuming us in out! !
Eating us away...

It's that fear
The fear we hate
Come to us in pace
In life circumstance

It's that fear
Can anyone hear?
Like a monster or dear?
I wish it was fair..

it's that fear
Some say never fear
But in the back they tear
Overwhelmed can't even dare
Trying to overcome the fear..

It's that fear
The fear which keep us
Us alive and awake
Awake from unexpected

Awake to fight against
It's that fear
I want all to hear..
You and me here..
We need to chase Mr. Fear

We could make it
Make this a better world
Without the fear
The fear of loss
The fear of famine
The fear of war
The fear of poverty
The fear of religion
The fear of recognition
Why are we in fear...?
Can't it be there not here..
It's time to chase him out there
Leaving us in peace in here
It's that fear
The fear which is not only mine
It's that fear for all
The fear we both hear
Hear from different angles
Hear in different times
We all just don't want him here...

The fear we both imagine
An illusion body..
Could affect your goals
Never entertain that fear.

Lonely Love Forever

Oh my love
Do you not know?
I am silent in fear of unreciprocated love
I only waited for your love to be made known to me
For your love
And your heart

For you have mine
And you have me

I just want you
Especially through the long hours of the night
I nearly drown in lonely tears
Shed by mine eyes
For despair over love
And its cruel clutches

For a kindled desire felt only inside
And seemingly unwanted by you
Oh! That I could eternally be by your side
That I never would lose you
That we could be together
Now and forever

My love, don't lose hope
I confess my desires,
My love, to you
I only would that it was mutual

Darling, dear
Love of my life
I'll need you
Want you
Love you
Forever

So don't lose hope
As I lost mine
For now I am here
And, if you'll still take me
I stay to dance
And fly
And love
By your side
With the fire inside
Ignited
Forever

Night On Our Lives

Night on our lives, ah me, how surely has it fallen!
Be they who can deceived. I dare not look before.
See, sad years, to your own; your little wealth long hoarded,
How sore it was to win, how soon it perished all!
Beauty, the one face loved, the pure eyes mine so worshipped,
So true, so touching once, so tender in their dreams!
Find me that hour again. I yield the rest uncounted,
Urns for the dust of time, divine in her sole tears.
--Unseen one! Unforgotten! Oh, if your eyes behold it
By chance, this page revealed which trembling hides your name,
Merged in the ultimate wreck of fame and meaner joys!
Co--partner be with me in this my soul's last sorrow,
Pearl of my hidden life, this grief, that not again
Unspoiled love's rose shall blow, the dear love which was ours.

My Bitter Sweet

Oh, Night!

How peaceful you are my Starful night
You sorrowful delight

You bitter sweet
You dark desireful with light

Though all these pains around

You still so clear and kind

You're my only honest friend

You never leave me alone

like other friends

Every day you are here

Sweet and so dear

With dark face you come my near

With wandered eyes you gaze with fear

I know you care and fear

To see me tear

Till asking me

How I am! Oh!

How you are dear

You sit by my side and shead tear

My charmful night stay so dear!

People all changed,

Please you stay so kind and dear
Alone I Fear!

A Face With A Difference

I see somewhere around me
A face with a difference.
I see a face that`s not set on my face.
Its lips don`t kiss mine.
Its breath doesn`t feel mine
But I continue to see that face with a difference.
In the midst of faces that smile and sack
This is a different face indeed.

When I draw a picture of a face
I shall consider this one indeed.
This face has a thousand reflections
And in the twilight of my evening
I shall cherish this one face ever and ever.
In the corridors of my future unwoven
I shall chase this face henceforth.

My eyes see the difference
And that face begins to merge with mine.
My face turns upward to see
The things brighter and shapely.

I have now a face.

True Friends!

True friends are like a stars
They shine upon on my sky
I look upon every while
To count them and admire

Oh true friends are so dear
And that's why i always fear
If one of them falls apart
I cry for them day and night

My True friends are all that i have
So how can i bear losing them
And if one of them walks away
My soul chase their foot steps night and day
May can find them to ask them why

True friends are like shining diamonds
That i hide them on my heart
I join them on my hands every while
To count them cause I fear
If one of them slips among off
my fingers then i'll die

Oh true friend are my breath
They give me hope to breath
I hide them in my heart oh how i fear
If one of them falls apart
I look for them day and night
And my heart cries bloody tears
If i can't find them oh how i fear
Because they are so dear
Oh True Friends stay near:

A Love Secret

Love has its secrets, joy has its revealings.
How shall I speak of that which love has hid?
If my beloved shall return to greet me,
Deeds shall be done for her none ever did.

My beloved loved me. How shall I reveal it?
We were alone that morning in the street.
She looked down at the ground, and blushed, and trembled.
She stopped me with her eyes when these did meet.

``What wouldst thou, sweet one? What wouldst thou with sorrow,
Thou, the new morning star with me, the night?
What are those flowers thou holdest to thy bosom?
What are the thoughts thou hidest from my sight?''

``Thine are these flowers,'' she said, ``these foolish roses,
And thine the thoughts, if thus it be thy will.
I hold them close for fear that thou shouldst mock me,
I hold them to my heart for fear of ill.''

``Nay, what of ill? 'Tis only age is evil,
Only forgetfulness and grief and pain;
What dost thou know of grief, that thou shouldst fear it?
Mine is the grief who cannot love again.''

She raised her eyes, she looked at me in wonder,
``The ache is here,'' she said, ``by night and day;
I cannot teach my heart to bear its burden,
I cannot turn my silence from its way.''

``Speak to me, child. I am thy wise physician,
A man acquainted with all grief can teach;
There is no sorrow but has joy for sister,
No silence but finds counterpart in speech.''

My beloved laughed. She saw through my dissembling;
She held to me her hand, that I might kiss,
The inside of her hand. 'Twas like a petal
Of her own roses, but more dear than this.

I felt its pulses, like a bird in prison;
``Sweet child,'' I said, ``what wouldst thou I should prove?
I cannot make thee wiser than thy wisdom,
Who knowest all things since thou knowest love.''

How shall I tell it? How shall I reveal it?
I led her by the hand, as thus I said,
Back from the street to where it stood, my dwelling,
And closed the door on where it stood, my bed.

Her laughter stopped. ``Nay, use not thou unkindly.
Thine is the hand to deal or spare the blame;
I dare not be to thee thus uninvited,
Thou dost not know me, hast not learned my name.''

How shall I tell it? How shall I reveal it?
Love in that instant found its latest birth,
``Soul of my soul,'' I cried, ``thy name is Pleasure,
The sweetest thing to love on this sad Earth.''

I held her in my arms, I pressed her fastly.
``Ah, if thou lovedst me indeed,'' she cried.
``I love thee, and I love thee,'' was my answer,
``My sister, my beloved one, my bride!''

Love has its secrets. Joy has its revealings.
I speak of this which love in vain has hid;
If my beloved shall return to greet me,
Deeds shall be done for her none ever did.

You Dont Know What Love Is

(steve bogard/marv green)
You say Im aggressive, too possessive
Its too soon, too much
You want to wait around, slow it down, but Im burnin up
What can I do to get through to you, I know that youre the one
cause theres no controllin this emotion, its bigger than us
You dont know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You dont know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist
You dont know what love is
Its soft and gentle, its sentimental, cant you feel it too
Theres no denyin or compromising, its perfectly true
Its overpowering, its all around me when Im around you
You dont know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You dont know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist
You dont know what love is
I see you smile and girl Im sure Ive found it
Heaven knows theres just no doubt about it now
You dont know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You dont know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist

I Can See It In Your Eyes

The first time I saw you
I felt weak inside
I search my heart and mind
For words I couldn't find.
Some how you seemed to see
What came over me that night
As a love began to grow
That would last for all time.
And you said, ''I can see it in your eyes
They're the windows to your soul
Sometimes they say more
Than words could ever hope.''
''We could wait a thousand lifetimes
Then never feel like this again
But when you look at me, that way
I can see it in your eyes.''
Later on I asked your hand
And I prayed the time was right
I knelt down on one knee
And said, ''Would you be my bride?''
Then the sound of silence
Filled the air as your tears fell
With mine, you didn't have to say
A word for me to realize.
And I said, ''I can see it in you eyes
They're the window to your soul.''
''I see dreams come alive
And future plans unfold.''
''I could wait a thousand lifetimes
Then not find a perfect love again.''
''When you look at me, that way
I can see it in your eyes.''
Many years have come and gone
And what a life we've made
Now again we search for words
As the heart inside me breaks
Until death do we part
Were the vows we made
And now the time has come
But goodbye's so hard to say.
But I can see it in your eyes
They're the windows to your soul
The light of life is burning but
Soon you're leaving me, I know
But time that's left is precious dear
So please don't shed another tear
You don't have to say a word
I can see it in your eyes.
I've heard you say a thousand times
I'll love you dear, until I die
But you don't have to say a word
I can see it in your eyes...

An anthem to an angel

Angel dear
sit by my side
hold my hand
kiss my eyes

angel dear
ever since you came
hopes fluttered
dreams danced

angel dear
when I felt you then
stirring inside
I knew how well I loved you.

angel dear
each day with you
each smile we share
each hug we hold
has transformed me so

angel dear
through your eyes
I see the world
your dreams mine
your fears mine

angel dear
holding you close
your lips clucking
you clutching my curls
your fingers searching

angel dear
your waking me up
searching and then sleeping
running to me crying
laughing at seeing me (gregariously)

angel dear
I cant thank you enough
nor love you enough
nor hold you enough
nor kiss those coveted cheeks enough

angel dear
your first poem
your first speech
the teacher pulling your cheeks
the tear on your knees

angel dear
your first trophy
your fight with papa and me
you then hugging us tight
telling me not to fall

angel dear
as I see you each day
I cant begin to believe my luck
seeing you grow up
unbelievably, incredibly
beautiful from within

angel dear
I cannot
but wish for you
wishes that grow
with every sigh

angel dear
let love wait by your side
grateful for every smile
let earth and sky be
as it is to us, mostly kind
let there be trees to guard
fruits to grace your table
vegetables to add strength
old folk to advise
young ones to look up to you
your equals shall take pride
in knowing you
and honoured you will be
for all that you do

and gracefully as you age
spreading love, wisdom and kindness
giving and losing for love
gaining strength and giving it
the world will rejoice
having you around
for there's none so like you....

Heart Like Mine

Night grows cold
I've been lonely so much
Out of reach
Save it only for me
Nothing in life is the same
And the sooner we stop to start

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe you can hide your face forever
God knows it's true
That when you search for someone
There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine
To be heard

Souls on fire
Feel her voice in your ear
She goes on
Living only for me
Nothing you say could be wrong
'Cause you give me the lovers sign

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe we can share it all forever
But not 'til we do
I'm gonna search for someone
There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine
To be heard

And baby are we waking up together
'Cause God knows it's you
If there is love for someone

And there's a heart like mine
Somewhere in this world
There's a heart like mine
Beating but left to burn

Maybe we can share it all forever
But not 'til we do
I'm gonna search for someone

There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine

To be heard

There's a heart like mine
There's a heart like mine

Flash the Firefly in you......

light capture the flash of the neon night sky and
hold deep into thy heart the melted snow in your
very eyes, like a dream in the firefly sky

behold the glitter shadow of twilight zoom of
lighted teardrops of tears, deep in thy heart the
love of forever knows the meant of each other,
for a lifetime. bestowed us the kids, to cherries
and love today for a lasting memory

may all the magnus force, showered the horizon
presence of smiley face of ageless humid of
loving tender kiss my dear heart; and bring us to
the land beyond compare, as i say speechless
eternity

a never pointless journey of waiting, has search
the beginning of spark of every firefly in your
dream of heart, take and will start it all over again,
no matter how far you'll go, i'll always wait you
tell time no more in my lips i pray

brighten the eyes that see and take the forever
venture we run; for end to end the season comes
something that never taste before Darling.....

White Magic

Against the world I closed my heart,
And, half in pride and half in fear,
I said to Love and Lust: Depart;
None enters here.

A gipsy witch has glided in,
She takes her seat beside my fire;
Her eyes are innocent of sin,
Mine of desire.

She holds me with an unknown spell,
She folds me in her heart's embrace;
If this be love, I cannot tell:
I watch her face.

Her sombre eyes are happier
Than any joy that e'er had voice;
Since I am happiness to her,
I too rejoice.

And I have closed the door again,
Against the world I close my heart;
I hold her with my spell; in vain
Would she depart.

I hold her with a surer spell,
Beyond her magic, and above:
If hers be love, I cannot tell,
But mine is love.

Hymn

(FROM THE GERMAN OF MARTIN LUTHER)

O heart of mine! lift up thine eyes
And see who in yon manger lies!
Of perfect form, of face divine--
It is the Christ-child, heart of mine!

O dearest, holiest Christ-child, spread
Within this heart of mine thy bed;
Then shall my breast forever be
A chamber consecrate to thee!

Beat high to-day, O heart of mine,
And tell, O lips, what joys are thine;
For with your help shall I prolong
Old Bethlehem's sweetest cradle-song.

Glory to God, whom this dear Child
Hath by His coming reconciled,
And whose redeeming love again
Brings peace on earth, good will to men!
