Peace Proposal
Said General Clay to General Gore really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die in such a bore I quite agree said General Gore
Said General Gore to General Clay we could go to the beach today
And have some icecream on the way a grand idea said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore we'll build sand castles on the shore
Said General Gore we'll splash and play let's leave right now said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay but what if the sea's closed today
And what if the sand's been blown away the dreadful thought said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay I've always feared the ocean's spray
And we may drown it's true we may it chills my blood said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore my bathin' suit is slightly tore
We better go on with our war I quite agree said General Gore
The General Clay chanrged General Gore as bullets flew and cannons roared
And now at last there is no more of General Clay or General Gore

The Generals
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'Oh must we fight this silly war?
To kill and die is such a bore.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'We could go to the beach today
And have some ice cream on the way.'
'A grand idea,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'But what if the sea is closed today?
And what if the sand's been blown away?'
'A dreadful thought,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'I've always feared the ocean's spray,
And we may drown!' 'It's true, we may.
It chills my blood,' said General Clay.
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'My bathing suit is slightly tore.
We'd better go on with our war.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Then General Clay charged General Gore
As bullets flew and cannons roared.
And now, alas! there is no more
Of General Clay or General Gore.

Truffaut loved actresses, and he was very intense. All the actresses I knew wanted to do a film with him.

I don't see myself as competing with other actresses. I mean, I went through a time when I was in New York, and I was going to lots of auditions and trying to get parts, but even then, you're not really competing with the other actresses. There is a competition going on, but it's not like something you can win in that way.

There's a very small group of elite actresses who are my age, who people want to work with. It's not easy to get a good job with good actors.

Hollywood sold its stars on good looks and personality buildups. We weren't really actresses in a true sense, we were just big names - the products of a good publicity department.

We never can tell how our lives may work to the account of the general good, and we are not wise enough to know if we have fulfilled our mission or not.

The place was crawling with youngsters. It was good, because the kids were good. I can't make a general assumption. Again, you're probably getting, as a general theme from me, that I don't make a lot of broad, sweeping rules about movies.

Good actresses can often accomplish miracles, and it is possible to be someone you've never been or will be. But in a sitcom, there's no time.

This submission is a restraint of liberty, but could be of no effect as to the good intended, unless it were general; nor general, unless it were natural.

The political Jack fruit tree and the hypocrite Bats
The tree laden with ripen fruits
And the Bats hang on the solid branches.
The poor folk sing the usual song;
'If it's given free then why should we hesitate to accept even the influenza.'
[ General election is coming closer in Sri Lanka, nowadays you could see on the stages how they sing nicely.Cricketers, Actors and Actresses etc., dream of their future minister posts while the Boss plays the violin.]

Men are demeaned
Models are there; actresses are there.
Good looking women are everywhere.
They desire tempting men with their assets.
They don’t love men, rather demean men.

The Penitant Cat On His Deathbed
I've been a pretty good pet
overall and done what's hoped of me
I've sat on a tuffet with frigging Miss Muffet
all the livelong day
and never run up a tree.
I've kept the tiger at bay
that paces in my heart
back and forth and back;
never sprayed or clawed the furniture
but mildly mewed and looked up;
I never bit the vet
or killed a bird
but ate the putrid food
that probably made me ill,
pretending to like it alot;
Caught an occasional rat
and, though my pupils swam
like goldfish in a bowl,
never wet the rug:
I simply can't do that.
Plenty of things I never did, ok?
like get involved with bad cats
that sit in the moonlight all night
and raise Cain. Nope, no, I did not that,
or swung drunk on a side of beef.
Nosiree-no, on the whole,
in general, in general, hmm...
I even had a family, um,
I'm not at all sad to say
and though I can't recall now
just when or how
my little bag of lives got all used up,
it did.
'C'est la vie'-or, 'c'est le mort, '
as a dog friend once said.
So I've gotten right
with the Big Kitty, and all,
and when I die, as soon I shall,
I'm sure to go straight up, you know,
to that big playground in the sky.

Gossip Magazines
When the actresses show everything
from conception to delivery,
with verve and pleasure
to enlighten the ignorant mass,
why the gossip magazines
spread rumours about
the riveting sagas
of love affairs and flirts
of the stars of the tinsel world,
politics and of those in the clutches
of the sages and saints
doing penance in ashrams
to purge the sins of others?
The boys drooled over
the topless photos of the movie stars
a decade back in lonely places.
Now they see, relish
all the performing actresses
in the nets and cell phones and iPods.
No chance for drooling!

Actresses can get outrageously precious about the way they look. That's not what life's about. If you starve yourself to the point where your brain cells shrivel, you will never do good work. And if you're overly conscious of your arms flapping in the wind, how can you look the other actor in the eye to respond to them?
