Most cynics are really crushed romantics: they've been hurt, they're sensitive, and their cynicism is a shell that's protecting this tiny, dear part in them that's still alive.

I'm a romantic, and we romantics are more sensitive to the way people feel. We love more, and we hurt more. When we're hurt, we hurt for a long time.

Im Sensitive
I was thinking that I might fly today
Just to disprove all the things that you say
It doesnt take a talent to be mean
You words can crush things that are unseen
So please be careful with me, Im sensitive
And Id like to stay that way
You always tell me that its impossible
To be respected, and be a girl
Whys it gotta be so complicated
Why you gotta tell me if Im hated
So please be careful with me, Im sensitive
And Id like to stay that way
I was thinking, that it might do some good
If we robbed the cynics and took all their food
That way what they believe will have taken place
And we can give it everybody who have some faith
So please be careful with me, Im sensitive
And Id like to stay that way
I have this theory, that if we told were bad
Then thats the only idea well ever have
But maybe if we are surrounded in beauty
Someday we will become what we see
cause anyone can start a conflict
Its harder yet to disregard it
Id rather see the world from another angle
We are everyday angels
Be careful with me cause Id like to stay that way

The Dream
i like this to be simple.
she was tiny and smooth
like a shell
(not the shell of an egg)
a sea
shell, she has a song
from the wind
it is sad, but i love it,
her, she is the other woman,
on a bamboo bed,
she my time unexplained
i make love to her
she pretends, i am hurt,
but it does not matter,
i am lonely, and feeling so lost,
i am a ship
needing an ocean not an anchor
i have no port
of origin and arrival,
that night, the sphinx
was shattered, and the following morning,
she was dead
asleep, she was so exhausted like a slave
woman, feeding me the love
that i have not tasted,
i was a puppy, yelping for help,
for meat,
and then i wake up
early, for some
anxiety, what time is it,
where am i,
i am leaving, i offered her
not flowers, i planted a kiss,
it was not part of the
contract, but just the same
i kissed her, for she is dead asleep
dreaming perhaps of the
man she really loved.
i put on my pants
combed my hair, and silently
left the room, locked the door,
and be myself again.
it is as simple as that, back home,
i do not need any complication.

To be sensitive
As sensitive, I am neither tolerant nor patient.
As sensitive, I am neither neutral nor indifferent.
As sensitive, I am either a rose or a cactus.
Whose fault is it that I am sensitive?

Crack Down
In the chiaroscuro
Raven fatefully stepped, heard a cracking-
Having crushed a human being
like a snail crossing a sidewalk
and for one fleeting eternal incarnation
became bone, crushed shell,
a formless mass.
Cynic
I know that some people
are getting sick of my cynicism
that is building inside of me
I'm sorry if it has hurt a few people
but I am not ready to conquer it
I do not know my enemy enough yet
It does scare me
because what if it goes too far
I know I'm just part crazy
and that most people are
That is what really scares me
but I know that I'm not really crazy
I'm just searching for the truth
which is more than most of you
will ever conjure

Sensitive To Light
I was feelin rather good
Shouldve touched some wood
Here she comes again
Reachin out to bend my ear
Shes worth another look
All the time it took
Pleasin to the eye
How can I just disappear, oh
It aint clear, no
Shes a bright and shining star
But I just must be sensitive to light
Oh I just might, yeah
I could have let her in
Give her just a spin
Let her think its love
Better rise above it all
Shes knockin at the door
Seems to want some more
Never gets the clue
What am I to do shell fall
And she might call, oh no
Shes a bright and shining star
But I just must be sensitive to light
Oh, I just know
She could do me well
I can always tell
Shes ready for the kill
But I think that I will go, no
Sure Im gonna see
Something just for me
Till it comes along
When its feelin wrong Ill know
Gotta take it slow, yeah
Shes a bright and shining star
But I just must be sensitive to light
Oh, I might, yeah
Shes a bright and blazing star
But I just must be sensitive to light, yeah
Sensitive to light, ooooh

I'm One Of Those Tiny Things
tiny things do not matter
in fact
those invincible ones
do not
affect us
they may be felt
but
only when we are too
sensitive
or overreacting
i am one of these tiny
things
don't bother
i won't

Tiny Girls
Pop/bowie
Well the day begins
You dont want to live
cause you cant believe
In the one youre with
cause you know her tricks
And you know her past
When she makes a face
You just have to laugh
And you feel like such a know-it-all
When you only want just a tiny girl
And you hope shell sing.
So you turn around
Toward the tiny girls
Who have got no tricks
Who have got no past
Yea thats what you think
And you hope shell sing
But she sings of greed
Like a young banshee
And she wants for this
And she wants for that
What did you think.

Jumper
Standing on a ledge ten stories up
wind rips at clothing & flesh,
a tiger's claws. Hair blown to hell.
None of it matters at all.
Nothing matters but the hundred feet below
& a tiny patch of concrete
soon to be filled with blood & brains &
the crushed shell of a depressed life.
One last look out, then down.
Thighs compress for launch:
a three second freefall into salvation.

Tiny Little Soldier Boys;
Tiny Little soldier boys
Standing in a row
One step, two step, three step GO
Take all his orders and do as he says
Tidy up your uniform,
Make up your beds
Tiny Little soldier boys
Do your part
Don’t ever think of what’s in your heart;
You do as they say
And you will obey
But why do you do this my dear?
It’s because it you live out of fear.
Tiny little soldier boys
Stand up for yourselves
You don’t need to live in this hell
There are many of you and only two of them,
I bet this wasn’t what they had planned.
You break down there walls and blow up there lies
And you wont even listen to their pitiful cries
But then tiny little soldier girl
You awake in your bed
I’m sorry to tell you,
It was all in you head
You stand on your own
No army behind you
You stand all alone
They’ll be coming to find you.

I love you for what you seem.
Dear, can you be what you seam, inside your shell?
I fear, you may not show how you are inside.
Dear, can you admit me to peep inside your shell?
I fear, you may not expose the secret inside.
As long as you are not open with your shell inside
Why should I bother to know what is there in the Hell?
And why not what you seem outside alone can enthrall?
I love you for what you seem and not for what are inside.
I shall be concerned with your pericarp, content in full.
You can keep your endosperm to yourself opaque.

Hurt
(words & music by j.crane - a. jacobs)
Im so hurt to think that you lied to me
Im hurt way down deep inside of me
You said our love was true
And well never, never part
Now youve got someone new
And it breaks my heart
Im hurt, much more than youll ever know
Yes darling, Im so hurt
Because I still love you so
Even though you hurt me
Like nobody else could ever do
I would never hurt, hurt you

I think we too often make choices based on the safety of cynicism, and what we're lead to is a life not fully lived. Cynicism is fear, and it's worse than fear - it's active disengagement.
A little Flower
A flower grew out of the ground
A tiny flower from the dirt
A tiny living soul from underground
A baby crawling from the dirt
A little innocence of wild color
A tiny spark of hope
A tiny pleasure free of charge
A flower that i called my own
A little baby ran towards it
A tiny flower crushed beneath the feet
A little human innocence
A little bliss destroyed by ignorance
A little flower dead on the ground
A little baby jumping up and down
And only me from my own window, witnessed the death of my own flower beneath the feet of blissful child without idea of his first crime...

Love Attracts Love
Once upon a time
own love, tried
to hold back..
thought
that people giving
their hearts
end up being hurt
but soon found out
hurt also is part of life
as much as love.
Could you believe
hurt love can really heal
The more love
a heart beats
the more bearable
shall come to be
own selfish bits.
Because love
opens the curtains
to others pain
and then may find
myself ashamed
of own tiny problems,
shall no more complain.
Reasons are melting
slowly, one by one
smiles blossom watching
how the open heart
The universal force of love
attract..

Im Not Worth The Tears
Mama didnt always have those tears in her eyes
And daddy once was able to hold his head up high
But now I brought disgrace to my whole family
Now they cry, but Im not worth
The tears they cry for me
I loved a boy and then I found that he just lead me on
So in my hurt and bitterness
I let myself go alone
But all I did was hurt myself
And shame my family
And now they cry but Im not worth
The tears they cry for me
No Im not worth
The salt in one tiny tear
Oh why have I brought shame
To the one I loved so dear
Im so sorry that I hurt them
But theyll never know how sorry
And now they cry but Im not worth
The tears they cry for me
Yes now they cry, but Im not worth
The tears they cry for me

Dear Father
Why did you part me from yourself, dear father, why?
You've given houses with two stories to my brothers,
And to me, a foreign land? Why dear father, why?
We (daughters) are just cows tied to your peg,
Will move on to where ever you drive us to, dear father.
We are just flower-buds of your garden,
And are asked for, in every household, dear father.
We are just birds from your cage,
Will fly off when its dawn again, dear father.
I've left at home, alcoves full of dolls;
And parted from my buddies too, dear father.
When my palanquin passed beneath the terrace,
My brother fainted and fell, dear father.
As I remove the curtain from the palanquin,
I see we've reached the beloved's house, dear father.
Why did you part me from yourself, dear father, why?

A Poem About Excitement To Something Huge And Spread Like Space
i am tiny, like a nit
wit, and i look at you
spread like wall paper on the wall
something is beautiful there
like a face
something in there excites me
like a pulse on my wrist
i am tiny and i feel so tiny
watching you
like a wall paper on the wall, you
are indifferent
i am excited like a chick hatching from
a shell
i am growing feathers
like a chicken
something in you is so huge like a world
that i have never been
i am excited like a puppy to my master
getting out of his car
i love this feeling, this tiny feeling
this world that is expanding
you are my world now, and i fall into
a regret,
when tiny becomes lost
and when the hands melt while groping for the
truth
about beauty that is lost
about existence that is deleted
simply because you are too huge
like space
and i, this atom, unseen,
colliding,
invincible, and now unknown.
