While housing discrimination and segregation in 2005 still affect millions of people, that's not the way it has to be. Some things can change and should.

In Every Way!

how many people are blind?
how many people are deaf?
how many by choice?
perhaps you still have jobs,
homes, food to eat, medical care.
perhaps you have investments,
a way to retire....
perhaps your family is happy,
and well taken care of...
i hope so for you!

millions of people hurting,
millions in need...
millions of children hungry,
millions who cant get an education.
millions enslaved by poverty,
millions left alone....
people with faces and names.

all of these are normal people.
whatever their language, their religion,
their sexual orientation.
all of these are people just like you.
and many of these have families,
just like you!

is it their fault they're victims?
perhaps they've worked their whole lives.
male, female, young, old.....
all people,
with mothers and fathers....
all people....
and no, America is not free.

the news we watch is tainted.
the truth is hidden from us.
killing people around the world
does not make us free....
books are being banned and burned,
prejudice and discrimination are rampant.
we have forgotten we are responsible for each other,
we have forgotten we are all immigrants here.
there are no illegal people,
all people are just people.
freedom demands equality,
in every way!

Housing has led our nation's economic expansion over the past few years, accounting for 16 percent of our Gross Domestic Product. New housing starts and home sales hit record levels from 2003 through 2005.

When Will Things Change

the world is unworthy and things countine to be dirty when will things change. when the world is full of mess and people just countine to strees, when will things change. when the streets are some of our homes never knowing why were alone, when will the world change. people cry at night just to give up a fight, when will things change. when you need to cry and you need someone 'why' when will things change.
when the world is sour and people have way to much power, when will things change. crying about the past, the things that never last. when will things change. when the world around you is cold, and shared feelings never seem to bold when will things change. when the world comes at you fast and ever part of your stress continues to last. when will things change.

A Dreamer’s Dream

My dream is to become a dreamer,
a dreamer who all his wishes will come true one day,
a happy dreamer who wishes the happiest and best things to all dreamers’ dreams,
a dreamer who wishes to change this dangerous world to a better world,
A world without racism, discrimination, segregation, and brothers killing their brothers,
But yes, a dreamer who wishes this world to change into a paradise,
A world that everybody will respect, every dreamers dreams.

Tearless Eyes Of Mine

I've no tears to cry
my eyes have gone pale and dry.
What they saw in past
was discrimination on things like cast.
How does it matter being a Dalit or Brahman
when we are all normal humans.
It's a thought we have to change
a thought to change
a world will change.
Where people can freely say they are black
no rights to anyone will lack.
Then my eyes will have nothing to do with water
and they can be pale and dry forever.

Knowing My Consciousness Is Being Address

What has been the affect of my blessings?
I suppose it is the peace of mind I find.
And being inquisitive about life,
Has never been treated by me as a commodity
I awaken fascinated.

I imagine myself floating through space,
With an awareness of no boundaries.
Or limitations of any kind taken place.
And when I finally come down to Earth...
I'm reminded how blind and insensitive,
The feeding of greed...
Has left the majority of people to believe,
The Universe is not an 'entity' that knows and breathes...
Every detail of their existence.
The tremendousness of this Supreme Majesticness,
Has to know!

What has been the affect of my blessings?
Knowing my consciousness is being address,
By a power too great for me to envision.
But from 'IT' I get a sense of approval.
And from 'IT' I get a motivation that keeps me devoted.
And from 'IT' I get immediate feedback....
From millions of years,
Servicing wisdoms far greater than my own limitation.

That has been the affect,
Of acknowledging I've been blessed.

William Baldwin

A strong economy causes an increase in the demand for housing; the increased demand for housing drives real-estate prices and rentals through the roof. And then affordable housing becomes completely inaccessible.

The segregation

Bulls and horses which are black
Are not the objects of contempt
To us or the fellow animals,
But the black are so to others, why?
Segregation is civilization.

What Have We Become?

Dedication, Consideration, Appreciation, Integration
Good feelings how they soar,
Adoration, Commendation, Elation and Restoration
We must not ignore.

Discrimination, Vulgarization, Segregation, Retaliation
Evil is the rule of thumb,
Annihilation, Castration, Extermination and Condemnation
What have we become?

Never change yourself

I dread how people change
They want to become something
their not
It's all because of what they say
I wish that people never changed
The people that make life worth living,
change themself
It's like people try to be like everyone
else
But I'm never going to change, I'm
always going to be the same

Maybe I'm not intellignant nor
am I foolish
I'm one of the bright ones
Which not everyone notices
or cares to look at
But sometimes it's hard to
bare everyday, with everyone
the same

Everyone around me acts
the same
I believe people should maintain
the way they are
Each day I can't help but to notice
that they'll never going to change
In a way, I'm not the same
But I'm sincere, because I'm actually
real

Different makes things stand out
When everything is in black and white,
you'll be in color
When things seem dull, you'll going to
stand out
All though it's the same, I'm never
going to change
If you even have a brain,
I suggest you'd do the same

By a 13 almost 14 year old girl. Don't judge me by my age but my skill and passion for talent for writing.

May Nature’s Fury Soon Abate!

The Hurricanes are back with renewed force;
The sea is rough and wind is blowing fierce;
The battered houses could be wrecked some more;
The shattered homes can’t start life once again.

Yet, Nature does her work incessantly;
She’s guided by the laws of Universe;
Man cannot learn her secrets anytime;
So, Nature’s furious nature, man must bear.

And no one is to blame for what happens;
These things are bound to just occur sometime;
Precautionary measures help a lot;
But none can prevent natural disasters.

Displaced are millions people every time?
Their misery cannot be ev’r fathomed;
Their brothers in the safer zones must help;
Their sisters must comfort these depressed souls.

Remember that such things can affect all;
Ones safe today could be the next victims;
So, hurry up to help the distressed souls,
And plead to God with prayers for mercy.

Implore the Master of the Universe;
His heart of love can make matters better;
Pray that His angry face must smile again;
Let mankind live in peace on planet earth.

If not for God, who can control Nature?
The Maker must protect His creature man;
But man must be more faithful to his God;
“Take care of soul and escape His just rod! ”

Discrimination Here's You Come and Go

Discrimination’s like a snake
Its teeth in poisoned prejudice,
Causing ache

Discrimination abolished all warmth and spirit
And returned with a new hate
Relishing its pain brought
Never thought of halt

Hey
Discrimination’s the new law
Stony and steel and
Square without feelings
Like window frames
Of the Hall
In court

I wonder where the White’s Purity all gone.

Tears and Fears
Now the norm
In the name
Of discrimination

now
Gladly Discrimination has gone
Kicked out hard,
square and fair

Yet-
It left a hole
In everyone’s hearts.

A Satease Poem

These Sirene's, These things, These fene's!
keep Appearing when, I see them! then! they!
turn into hymns of horrible scenes! right away!
As I describe below, for ever more, I do emplore!
These sirene's these things, these fene's!
in their horrible scenes! of racial discrimination against
people of color and women.
Where public agencies and schools to use loose Goals
of timetables to! address racial in gender disparities
As humans we all need equal opportunity!
Measures to allow race and gender to be considered
for decisions on promotion better agencies on hiring!
promotion, public schools enrollment! and to reverse
discrimination and affirmative action programs to ensure
a fair criteria for all human applicants!
Available jobs to be advertised for Both men and women!
We need afffirmative action to create a level playing field!
And no more some may not receive the advantage they've
had use to having!
And no racial discrimination and preference have no priviledge
remedy for discrimination never more, no never, for ever,
ever more! I'll emplore! Enough stuff from these sirene's
these things, these fene's,
from their horrible scene's!
