Six Foot Man
Well I was born six feet tall,
With no loving at all,
Had to rummage through my life of misery.
I had to go from place to place,
Never recognise my face,
I'm the moody man you never ever see.
Well, one day I placed a bet,
With the money I had left,
Did not know what the future held for me.
Through all the suffering and the pain,
If there's one thing that I've gained,
That's the patience that I now receive.
Poor boy,
Rich boy,
Well, what you gonna do boy?
Now that you have taken all the joy, oh, oh, oh.
And by the very next week,
I had headed a lucky streak,
I had won the lottery, four million pounds.
Opinion seemed to change so fast,
People hear that you've got cash,
? every single woman in this town.
Now I've got my limousine,
And the yacht upon the sea,
And the thousand friends I've never met before.
Through all the suffering and the pain,
Butthere's one thing that I've gained,
That's the knowledge that had when I was poor.
I was a poor boy,
Now I'm a rich boy,
Well, what you gonna do boy?
Now that you have taken all the joy, oh, oh, oh.

The Very Thing That Makes You Rich
My father told me, lying on his bed of death,
"boy," he says, "woman she's gonna make it, don't fool your self
'cause she's got something to make a man lay that money, uh, right in her hand
And the very thing that makes her rich will make you poor
The very thing that makes her rich will make you poor"
That's right!
Well, i put you behind the wheel of a deuce and a quarter, yes i did
Had you living like a rich man's daughter, yes i did, i sure did
While you were living high on the hog
You had me down here scuffling like a dog
Well, the very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Don't you never ever make such a bad mistake
You know i'd rather climb into bed with a rattlesnake
Then to work hard every day bringing that woman all my pay
The very thing that makes you rich makes me poor,
Makes me so damn poor
The thing that makes her rich makes me poor
The very thing that makes you rich make me poor
Very thing that makes you rich makes me poor
Makes me so damned poor
Money won't change it, no no...

Poor Folks Town
The work is hard and the hours are long
The money aint much but we get along
Were rich in things can give
That cant be bought with a dollar bill
So, come on down
Have a look around
Rich folks livin in a poor folks town
We got no money but were rich in love
Thats one thing that weve got a-plenty of
So come on down have a look around
At rich folks livin in a poor folks town
We got no carpets on the floor
Weve got wall to wall love
Who could ask for more
We got no big fine things to show
Just a place to watch our children grow
We got no big fine fancy car to drive
And no fancy clothes to keep in style
What weve got were payin on
But its mostly love that were livin on
So, come on down
Have a look around
Rich folks livin in a poor folks town
We got no money but were rich in love
Thats one thing that weve got a-plenty of
So come on down have a look around
At rich folks livin in a poor folks town
Weve got a little simple church nearby
And the promise of a mansion in the sky
A heart of gold a million dollar smile
And a one way ticket to paradise
So, come on down
Have a look around
Rich folks livin in a poor folks town
We got no money but were rich in love
Thats one thing that weve got a-plenty of
So come on down have a look around
At rich folks livin in a poor folks town
So, come on down
Have a look around
Rich folks livin in a poor folks town
We got no money but were rich in love
Thats one thing that weve got a-plenty of
So come on down have a look around

Poor Little Rich Girl
You say youre gonna testify
Lie away, lie away
So youre gonna gun me down
Go ahead, fire away
You say youll
Bring the curtain down
Turn around, walk away
Youre gonna close
This theatre down
Go ahead, stop the play
Your money talks
You pull the strings
Someone waits in the wings
You flick the switch, the dancer falls
You deal the cards
The dealer calls in your game
Poor little rich girl, your money talks
You pull the strings
Its a shame, poor little rich girl
Your money burns
We all have wings
You say youre gonna
Leave this town, fly away, fly away
So you gonna
Shoot me down, go ahead
Your money burns
Your money stings
Another song that no one sings
Another script left on the floor
Another face is shown the door
In your game
Poor little rich girl, your money talks
You pull the strings
Its a shame, poor little rich girl
Your money burns
We all have wings
In the game, poor little rich girl
Its easy come, its easy go
Its a shame, poor little rich girl
You lock the door, close the show
Its a game

Country Gentleman
Country gentleman walked a crooked mile,
Got our money in his pocket.
Did it all with a very handsome smile.
Now, he's livin' it up in a great big office.
He ain't a-gonna help no poor man.
He ain't a-goona help no poor man.
He ain't a-gonna help no poor man.
He's just gonna help his rich friends.
He ain't a-gonna help no women.
He ain't a-gonna help no children.
He's just gonna help his rich friends.
Country gentleman, we see him on T.V.,
Glad handin' folks and chattin' to the nation.
We never knew what really to believe.
Just word upon slogan with emotional connection.
Chorus:
He ain't a-gonna help no poor man.
He ain't a-gonna help no children.
He ain't a-gonna help no women.
He's just gonna help his rich friends.
And in the papers all we'd ever read is
So and so big-shot signed his resignation.
Now, country gentleman he wants us to believe
That he's kind and honest with the best intentions.
Chorus
Country gentleman, now there's a bird that flew
High above his nation, prayed on its weakness.
Picked our bones and threw it in his stew.
Thank God he went back to California.
Chorus

All Across The Nation
Somewhere in the city
Theres a struggle going on
Someones making money
Someones doing wrong
Everybody searching for a little piece of gold
(power play? )(fix a face? ) never grow old
Its a shame
Whos gonna take control?
Its a game they play
Whos gonna save your soul?
And theyre never gonna stop
Till they reach the top
All across the nation
Fever takes control
Money is temptation
Money saves your soul
One thing I can tell you
Of this there is no doubt
The rich man needs his comfort
And the poor man does without
Everybody loves somebody
All around the world
But everybody knows
Its the rich man gets the girl
-chorus-
Look at all the little people
(cowering? ) from the rain
Standing at the bus stop
Dreaming bout spain
Here comes the rich man
Driving his car
When he was poor he was sure
He was gonna go far
-repeat chorus to fade-

The Word Called Destiny
I feel like a windblown feather in my life I have no say
Where I come from and where I go to destiny decide the way
What will happen come tomorrow what will the future hold for me?
Leave all that to fate and fortune and the thing called destiny.
In the slum end of the city where pauper is the common name
And to suffer from hunger pain is part of the living game
Lived a very lucky fellow oh how lucky can one be
He won one third of a million in the football lottery.
He now live in posh suburbia and is financially secure
A far cry from grime and squalor and the sad haunts of the poor
With a rolls royce in his garage poor boy he's not poor no more
Destiny did him a favour lifted him right from the floor.
And then there was the high street Doctor under worked and over paid
He was envied as most rich are People thought he had it made
Yet the Doctor felt unhappy and a strange sadness in him grew
But destiny done him no favour over loosened his mental screw.
Fetched his gun one sunday morning when the sun shone in the sky
And pink roses bloomed in his garden in the prime of sweet July
Cocked the gun barrel towards his temple at the right side of his head
Pulled the trigger then a loud bang and the Doc he fell down dead.
For every human on this Planet every woman, child and man
Destiny of seven letters for each has a special plan
It can make the rich unhappy and raise the poor from poverty
And decide on each human's future the famed thing called 'Destiny'.

(Anti Prejudice Poem) An Opportunity To Become Rich
Someone needs to be rich and someone needs to be poor.
An equal existence would mean it could never be improved upon.
What ever you had, you would have.
Nothing more.
Nothing to be gained.
Always the same.
No dream would ever be accomplished.
No wish would ever come true.
Destiny's askew.
Before we lash out at the rich so easily.
We must realize how they got their.
Was it a inheritance?
Was it built from scratch?
Was it an idea in which one hatched?
Was a gamble in which they finally won?
Was it stolen?
Was it gained by destroying others?
Count the ways to the great accomplishments.
Still theirs as many good as bad.
And to categorize all as the same.
Is a prejudice I just can not approve of.
I'm poor, but I'm glad to have that opportunity to become rich.

Money
When I had money, money, O!
I knew no joy till I went poor;
For many a false man as a friend
Came knocking all day at my door.
Then felt I like a child that holds
A trumpet that he must not blow
Because a man is dead; I dared
Not speak to let this false world know.
Much have I thought of life, and seen
How poor men’s hearts are ever light;
And how their wives do hum like bees
About their work from morn till night.
So, when I hear these poor ones laugh,
And see the rich ones coldly frown—
Poor men, think I, need not go up
So much as rich men should come down.
When I had money, money, O!
My many friends proved all untrue;
But now I have no money, O!
My friends are real, though very few.

Thing For You
Oh Lordy I got to feelin' so cold
You know the mornin' it ain't too good for my soul I've
been workin' in some faraway place I got to thinkin'
'bout your sweet smilin' face I got a thing for you I'm
gonna change all my ways I'm gonna get off the road I'm
gonna lighten my load I got a thing for you Can you
feel it too Think I better slow down All my wandering's
done I found my place in the sun
Ah woman, why d'you treat me this way
You don't believe a single word that I say
But it's the truth now, you know I'll be home for good
So what's with you now, I thought that you understood
I got a thing for you...
There ain't a woman alive could ever come close to you
I won't know how to survive, so don't you fade from my
view You say I'm putting you on and soon I'll be on my
way Well woman you're wrong and that is all I can say
All I can say
I got a thing for you...

Tears of the poor
Tears of the poor are
The drinks of the rich.
Shedding of blood
Rich man's headache,
Poor men's justice.
Water is too cool
To bring forth your anguish,
Fire is the only solution
Drink fire to end your injustice.
Silence is lover's desire
Poor men's unbearable pain.
Din is the only right choice
To put forth your demand.
Dew is the conspiracy
Hatched between the rich and the king,
Morning is the 1st step
Of that poor men's sufferings.

Rich and Poor
In me a sense has felt like each,
One causes others to wonder of strange beliefs,
In a feeding are the poor,
Poor are the opposite of the Rich.
In this side of the valley,
The Rich are better at living,
In opposition to the laughter
Of the Poor.
Poor is not Rich,
And Rich carries no Wealth
Of Heavenly Times.

I Already Know
There's no need to tell me I already know
That money on trees never blossoms or grow
Forty thousand in poverty for every millionaire
It is a rat race in the big World out there.
A long road to financial success and renown
For those who are born in the poor side of town
Condemned to be poor by their postal address
Without the right postal code the highbrows you won't impress.
It is common knowledge most will tell you so
'Tis not how clever you are it is who you do know
A wealthy person to you can be a good friend
A poor one has little money for to give or to lend.
In life I've been lucky quite lucky enough
I've never been hungry or had to sleep rough
I've never been Homeless or a Stateless refugee
Though I am aware of others poverty.
I already know you don't have to tell me
That money does not grow on a bush or a tree
Yet whilst some are worth millions and billions in money it seems sad to say
That many are dying of hunger every day.

In the Country
This life is sweetest; in this wood
I hear no children cry for food;
I see no woman, white with care;
No man, with muscled wasting here.
No doubt it is a selfish thing
To fly from human suffering;
No doubt he is a selfish man,
Who shuns poor creatures, sad and wan.
But 'tis a wretched life to face
Hunger in almost every place;
Cursed with a hand that's empty, when
The heart is full to help all men.
Can I admire the statue great,
When living men starve at its feet!
Can I admire the park's green tree,
A roof for homeless misery!

Tears of the poor man (alternative version)
The tears of the poor are
The drinks of the rich,
Yet the shedding of blood
Is the rich man's headache...
And what of the poor man's justice?
In truth, water is too cool
To bring forth your anguish!
Fire is the only solution!
Drink fire to end your injustice.
Silence is each lover's desire,
Yet the poor man's unbearable pain.

Hatched between the rich and their kings,
While morning is but the first step
Of each poor man's sufferings..

If I Had A Million In Money
Though money will not save you from the reaper and your mental depression won't cure
I'd rather be wealthy and unhappy than to be unhappy and poor
For how can some one poor be truly happy and it does not make much sense to me
When some says he is happy go lucky though he is living in poverty?
If I had a million in money I could help out a needy few
For if you are a poor ordinary battler not much to help out can you do
I know what it feels like without money one might say tell us something new
And that money can speak any language as ever happens to be true.
You may be a well meaning person a kind soul with a heart of gold
But lack of money is your major drawback the same old story as of old
And without money you cannot do much for others though you can help them in some other way
Like doing work for some needy person without asking for any pay.
If I had a million in money I could help a few friends in need
And others would say he is generous and by good example he lead
But I am as poor as a church mouse and I've never been financially secure
And like everyone lacking in money I cannot do much for the poor.

Sonnet: The Rich and the Poor
The rich become richer and the poor poorer;
This is the way in which this world goes on!
Men may become suddenly rich, not born;
A rich man turns suddenly a beggar.
The few pennies are snatched off from the poor;
The brunt of taxes are but borne by them;
They can’t make both ends meet by any sum;
The rich hoodwink the taxman- their brother!
Will the world treat people alike ever?
All men are born unequally today;
Yet, if it happens, ’twill be a wonder;
No matter what you do, things happen this way.
The rich become richer not by real work;
The poor become poorer though they hardwork!

Cheatin Woman
(ronnie vanzant - gary rossington - al kooper)
Cheatin woman make you crazy
Cheatin woman make you a fool
Shell leave your heart so lonely
Brother theres nothin you can do
Well I cant stand the pain no more
She dont want my love for sure
She dont even want poor me
Knockin on her front door
Why did you make me love you sister
When you knew you was untrue
You loved every man with pants on
Yes a dozen to you is too few
Im gonna shoot you and end your world
Then you wont bother poor me
You wont bother poor me no longer
Cheatin woman -- gonna shoot ya
Oh woman why you do me
Oh lord the way you do
I done everything I can baby
Seems like nothin reaches you
Im gonna get that pistol gal
Im gonna shoot you and all your pals
You aint gonna bother poor me
You wont bother poor me no longer

Poor Boy
Can you believe me when I say, theres nothing I like better,
Than just to sit here and talk with you.
Although Ill rant and Ill rave about one thing and another
The beauty of it is so pure to me, though,
Im a poor boy,
I can still be happy,
As long as I can feel free.
So many people I know, get old way too early
(well are you feelin kind of weary)
Just to impress you with the money theyve made
(you better, you better change your theory)
One drop of rain, they complain, its the same about the ways theyre earning.
Well, that is not the way Im gonna be,
Dont mind the rain, dont mind snow, dont mind nothin
If I know,
You will be right here with me
-well let her stay, dont mind a point of view,
How can we all afford to live like you;
This life is simply not enough,
We have no grievances, we must be tough-
-poor boy-
If thats the way its gonna be
-poor boy-
Its you for you and me for me
-poor boy-
(rd+rh)
Ive tried all I can, understanding, all the fools and all threir money,
When half of what theyve got, you know they never will use,
Enough to get by, suits me fine, I dont care if they think Im funny.
Im never gonna change my point of view,
Dont mind the rain, dont mind snow, dont mind nothing, if I know
You will be right here with me, all the way.
Na-na-na
Dont mind the rain, dont mind snow, dont mind nothing if I know
You will be right here with me , all the way.

Poor House
You walk in, half past nine
Lookin like a queen
Serving me with papers
Calling me obscene
Woman Ive tried so hard
Just to do my best
Theyre gonna put me in the poor house
And youll take all the rest
Up all day, down all night
Working on the job
Everything I do is wrong
I always end up [..]
Woman I try so hard
Done all I can do.
Theyre gonna put me in the poor house
Keep all the best for you.
Ooh, in the poor house
Ooh, in the poor house
If a drove a pulpwood truck
Would you love me more?
Will you bring me diamonds
And hang around my door
Woman, Ive done my best
Theyre aint much left for me
Theyre gonna put me in the poor house
And throw away the key (in the poor house)
Ooh, in the poor house
You walked in, half past nine
Lookin like a queen
Serving me with papers
Calling me obscene
Woman Ive tried so hard
Just to do my best
Theyre gonna put me in the poor house
