I Have Finally Come To Realize

I have finally come to realise
Child dont do what I have done
Cut my nose to spite my face
Made my own odds 10,000 to one
I saw the empire slowly fade away
Tried to grasp it with my hand
Then I saw that it was not up to me
Im just one tiny, tiny grain of sand
Oh, sweet release, oh how you soothe me
When I let go, I love how you use me
I have finally come to realise
Its something theyre doing that theyre doing that we find
A certain way that we can live our lives
And Im takin some peace of mind
Oh, sweet release, oh how you soothe me
And when I let go, and when I let go
I love how you use me
I have finally come to realise
Its something theyre doing that theyre doing that we find
A certain way that we can live our lives
And Im takin some peace of mind
I have finally come to realise, yes I have
Child dont do, child dont do what I have done
I cut my nose, I cut my nose to spite my face
I made my own odds 10,000 to one
I cut my nose to spite my face
I made my own odds 10,000 to one
One more time
I cut my nose, I cut my nose
I cut my nose to spite my face
I made my own odds 10,000 to one

Nose

No one cares for the nose

To go nose straight is the tao

If there were no eyes

You could see better with your nose

If there were no nose

you wouldnot distinguish the sweet from the bitter

And there would be no value judgements in the world

And it is the nose that keeps you hot in the cold

And that keeps you cold in Jakodabad

The nose is the vigilant customs officer

That does not allow any drug to your lungs

And the nose cannot be bribed

Oh Nose! the customs officer of the body

And the pivot of value judgement in the world

If that name thou love

Remain with us and teach the noseless world

That it must have a nose in this wartorn world

He who knows the greatness of nose

Surely goes to the realm of rose

In the life to come

Hurrah Let us compose hymns to nose

Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face

Be glad your nose is on your face,
not pasted on some other place,
for if it were where it is not,
you might dislike your nose a lot.

Imagine if your precious nose
were sandwiched in between your toes,
that clearly would not be a treat,
for you'd be forced to smell your feet.

Your nose would be a source of dread
were it attached atop your head,
it soon would drive you to despair,
forever tickled by your hair.

Within your ear, your nose would be
an absolute catastrophe,
for when you were obliged to sneeze,
your brain would rattle from the breeze.

Your nose, instead, through thick and thin,
remains between your eyes and chin,
not pasted on some other place--
be glad your nose is on your face!

Sorry

What's the matter with your life
Did someone come and shoot your with wife
Just as you planned
Will you live or will you die
Are you that butterfly
That never lands
Set aside these vacant rules
Break them now and don't get fooled again

Sorry
How many times must I say
Life is not a cake to seperate
What do I have to do
To save you from worry
Cut off my nose
To spite my face

When you look into these eyes
Do you see civilised
Or son of Sam
Will you love or do you hate
Why do you hestitate yeah

Sorry
How many times must I say
Life is not a cake to seperate
What do I have to do
To save you from worry
Cut off my nose
To spite my face

Time is an arrow
You are the bow
Shoot it now to seal your own fate
Get a life

Germs

Sometimes I really want to be alone
But thats one state Im never in
Because I know that Ive got millions upon millions
Of tiny, one-celled organisms living on my skin
(germs) I rub and scrub until my flesh is raw and bleeding
(germs) but they just come right back
(germs) I cant even see em, but I know theyre up to something
Hey, dont touch that - you dont know where its been
Theyre all over me
Theyre inside of me
Cant get em offa me
Im covered with ... microscopic bacteria
What do they want from me
Whatll they do to me
Theres no escape for me
Im crawling with ... microscopic bacteria
Now if I ever dare to go to sleep
Thats when they start their sneak attack
In the morning I wake up in utter horror
To find my teeth are covered with bacterial plaque
(germs) cant get those parasitic creatures off my face
(germs) and theres more comin every day
(germs) I never said that they could camp out on my body
I wish theyd pack their tiny little bags and move away
Theyre all over me
Theyre inside of me
Cant get em offa me
Im covered with ... microscopic bacteria
What do they want from me
Whatll they do to me
Theres no escape for me
Im crawling with ... microscopic bacteria
Theyre creepin around my shorts
Theyre under the bathroom sink
Theyre ridin inside my car
Theyre swimmin in my drink
Theyre hidin between my toes
Theyre lurkin in every kiss
I got em way up my nose
In every orafice
Im gonna show them whos boss
Im gonna get even yet
Just gimme some lysol spray
Just hand me a moist towelette
Dont tell me Im paranoid
I know that theyre after me
Look under the microscope
See? ?
Theyre all over me
Theyre inside of me
Cant get em offa me
Im covered with ... microscopic bacteria
What do they want from me
Whatll they do to me
Theres no escape for me
Im crawling with ... microscopic bacteria
Theyre all over me
I can feel em all over me
Over every part of me
Microscopic bacteria
I know theyre watching me
Theyre always watching me
Theyre coming after me
Microscopic bacteria
Wont somebody help me
Please somebody help me
Youve got to believe me
Theyre out to get me
They wanna control me
They wanna destroy me
Theyre tryin to kill me
It kind of upsets me

Nothing Compares To You

your nose is a big flat tire
but never did i tell you that there is a need to inflate
any part of it,
it is still the same nose to me
the one that i kissed
and loved
despite all the odds,

what a mess
but what a loveliness!

In Spite Of Ourselves

She dont like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the easter bunny
Shes my baby Im her honey
Im never gonna let her go
He aint got laid in a month of sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin my undies
He aint too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like its oxygen
Hes my baby
And Im his honey
Never gonna let him go
In spite of ourselves
Well end up asittin on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, were the big door prize
Were gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There wont be nothin but big old hearts
Dancin in our eyes.
She thinks all my jokes are corny
Convict movies make her horny
She likes ketchup on her scrambled eggs
Swears like a sailor when shaves her legs
She takes a lickin
And keeps on tickin
Im never gonna let her go.
Hes got more balls than a big brass monkey
Hes a wacked out werido and a lovebug junkie
Sly as a fox and crazy as a loon
Payday comes and hes howlin at the moon
Hes my baby I dont mean maybe
Never gonna let him go
In spite of ourselves
Well end up asittin on a rainbow
Against all odds
Honey, were the big door prize
Were gonna spite our noses
Right off of our faces
There wont be nothin but big old hearts
Dancin in our eyes.
There wont be nothin but big old hearts
Dancin in our eyes.

Dont Even Think About Changing

(clarke / hicks / nash)
When people put you down
Its cause theyre jealous of you
They shouldnt make you frown
You know as well as I do
Its cause I love you
For the things you do for me
One day theyll realise
And wish that they were me
One thing I know for sure
We both get satisfaction
Thats why theyre mad at us
cos they aint got what we got
Its cos Im happy
For the things you do for me
One day theyll realise
And wish that they were me
Dont even think about changing
Youve got a life of your own
Break
Dont even think about changing
Youve got a life of your own
Why dont they understand
Our feelings are sincere
One day theyll be surprised
Because we are so near
To all the things they tried
To be when they were young
Thats why they dont agree
And take it out on us
Its cause Im happy
For the things you do for me
One day theyll realise
And wish that they were me
Its cause Im happy
For the things you do for me

Report Of An Adjudged Case

Between Nose and Eyes a strange contest arose,
The spectacles set them unhappily wrong;
The point in dispute was, as all the world knows,
To which the said spectacles ought to belong.

So the Tongue was the Lawyer and argued the cause
With a great deal of skill, and a wig full of learning,
While chief baron Ear sat to balance the laws,
So famed for his talent in nicely discerning.

In behalf of the Nose, it will quickly appear,
And your lordship, he said, will undoubtedly find,
That the Nose has had spectacles always in wear,
Which amounts to possession time out of mind.

Then holding the spectacles up to the court, -
Your lordship observes they are made with a straddle,
As wide as the ridge of the Nose is, in short,
Designed to sit close to it, just like a saddle.

Again, would your lordship a moment suppose
('Tis a case that has happened and may be again),
That the visage or countenance had not a Nose,
Pray who would or who could wear spectacles then?

On the whole it appears, and my argument shows
With a reasoning the court will never condemn,
That the spectacles plainly were made for the Nose,
And the Nose was as plainly intended for them.

Then shifting his side, as a lawyer knows how,
He pleaded again in behalf of the Eyes,
But what were his arguments few people know,
For the court did not think they were equally wise.

So his lordship decreed, with a grave solemn tone,
Decisive and clear, without on if or but, -
That whenever the Nose put his spectacles on,
By daylight or candlelight - Eyes should be shut.

Through The Barricades

Mother doesnt know where love has gone
She says it must be youth
That keeps us feeeling strong
See it in her face, thats turned to ice
And when she smiles she shows
The lines of sacrifice
And now I know what theyre saying
When the sun begins to fade
And we made our love on wasteland
And through the barricades
Father made my history
He fought for what he thought
Would set us somehow free
He tought me what to say in school
I learned off by heart
But now thats torn in two
And now I know what theyre saying
In the music of the parade
We made our love on wasteland
And through the barricades
Born on different sides of life
We feel the same
And feel all of this strife
So come to me when Im asleep
Well cross the line
And dance upon the street
And now I know what theyre saying
When the drums begin to fade
We made our love on wasteland
And through the barricades
Oh, turn around and Ill be there
Theres a scar through my heart
But Ill bare it again
I thought? we were the human race
But we were just another border-line-case
And the stars reach down and tell us
That theres always one escape
I dont know where love has gone
And in this trouble land
Desperation keep us strong
Fridays child is full of soul
With nothing left to lose
Theres everything to go
And now I know what theyre are saying
Its a terrible beauty weve made
So we make our love on? wasteland
And through the barricades
Now I know what theyre are saying
As hearts go to their graves
We made our love on? wasteland
And through the barricades.

Why Do You Bob Your Nose, Girl ?

(kinky friedman)
Why do you bob your nose, girls, it does not look so nice,
If it' s just to keep in fashion, it's not the lord's advice.
Well, you mangle mother nature and brave the lord's command
You care about your nose, girls, and reach the glory land.
Why do you bob your nose, girls, it's not the thing to do,
Run with that nose and some day the lord may say to you:
You naughty little booger, you honky tonkin' hose
But at least i'm glad for one thing: you'sll never bob your nose.

O! What a nose!

People talk about a running nose
I'm talking about a long facial cargo
She’s got a nose longer than my longest toes
With a mission of being nosy as time goes

Please don’t get close
When she discloses
Her loud snoring doze
Don’t be like the heroes

Goodness gracious
O! What a nose!
Goodness gracious
What a precious nose pose!

Painted as red as a romantic rose
Standing long like my garden pipe hose
And as she sniffs, sneezes and exposes
I cannot help thinking of Pinocchio’s nose

Goodness gracious
O! What a nose!
Goodness gracious
Red and long when it snows

And this nose is nosy
She can smell a rat, cat or a bat
When you are getting cozy
In your one bedroom flat

O! What a nose!
In and out juice flows
And when she smells the air
They all cannot help but stare

The Most Visible Mask

you have loved the most visible mask i have
my face

everyday, this face, tomorrow this face, yesterday
this face

you are proud of my nose, and you tell all your friends about
it
aquiline, conquest of a nose, occupying almost all parts
of your territory

not even the hands but this face
the mouth that eats you

the eyes that close when
i kiss you

the tongue that maps out
what has to be found when lost

this face, the most visible mask
inside
is the real face, the face of my mind

it is thinking something else
all these years

the invisible mask is silent
tomorrow shall be the scorn

you must bear it,
you are fond of the most visible

though not really enduring.

My Nose Is Growing Old

Yup.
A long lazy September look
in the mirror
say it's true.

I'm 31
and my nose is growing
old.

It starts about 1/2
an inch
below the bridge
and strolls geriatrically
down
for another inch or so:
stopping.

Fortunately, the rest
of the nose is comparatively
young.

I wonder if girls
will want me with an
old nose.

I can hear them now
the heartless bitches!

"He's cute
but his nose
is old."

A freudian slip (who nose?)

I want to clear this matter up some way
And at the same time make my point

That love note I sent you the other day?
The one that got your nose all out of joint?

I think I simply typed too fast
And didn’t say what I meant to say

Not …“I like your huge, turnip nose”…
But “I like your cute turned up nose”

Was What I really meant to say

Perfect

There's a really pretty girl I know,
Twas talking with her not too long ago.
Now she's seems quiet as can be;
But today she really startled me.
She actually talked quite a bit
And apparently her nose was too big!
Now I've read before that there's things,
That we'd change if we had one magic wish.
I'd personally like to be taller and thinner
With not such a wide grin.
But it got me think ‘bout how we see ourself,
And how I see myself.
I realise now that God made me unique.
He made me, then he broke that mold quick.
I began to realise that often others see
A different side of me:
Cause what I saw was a beautiful girl
With no other match in the world.
What she saw was imperfection,
But I could only see perfection.
I saw the beauty, she saw scars.
Perhaps that's just the way we are.
So I wanted to take the time to share,
Something special and rare.
Twill always be more room to grow-
To be something better than you now know.
But you were made just right,
By Someone who watches o'er you day and night.
So I thought I'd let you know right now,
You're perfect the way you are:
Every blemish n' every scar.
Perfect the way you are.

Taught To Be Professionally Combative

I would not categorize myself,
By using any means of limitation.
Some who live without missions,
Or causes...
Would not understand my commitment.
Nor do I campaign my efforts.

I will say I am direct.
Pleasant and respectful to a fault.
However...
I do not mind coming face to face,
Or nose to nose...
With anyone who assumes,
My life has not been lived...
Without challenges.

I prefer to be peaceful.
But...
I also have been taught to be,
Professionally combative!
Both as a performing artist,
As an ex-military man...
AND having survived marriage.

So...
I am mentally equipped to deal,
With anyone on several levels.
And living alone on my own...
In a few distant cities,
Has given me a lot of insight.
