Marlene
Marlene
Marlene, youre the prettiest girl Ive ever seen
Do you care for me at all
Marlene, I care for you
And I just dont care who knows it
And I guess that means that I love you
Marlene
Marlene, whod believe that youre only seventeen
Im in trouble if your folks get mean
And if they do
Then I dont care if they bust me
And I guess that means that I love you
I dont need no fantasies
Just one thing I need
I you could make it here, marlene
Dear marlene, marlene
Marlene, when I think that it all is just a dream
I remember that your eyes are green
And mine are blue
They will always see each other
And I guess that means that I love you
I dont need realities
Just one thing I need
If you could make it here marlene
Dear marlene, marlene
Marlene, Im depending on you now

Lili Marlene
(m. david/n. schulze/h. leip)
Outside the barracks by the corner light
Darling I remember how Id wait for you at night
There wed create a world for two, Id wait for you
The whole night through, was there that youd whisper tenderly
That you loved me, youd always be
Be my lili marlene, be my lili marlene
Id give you a rose to show I care,
And wind it through your golden hair
Then we would say goodnight and part,
Ill always keep you in my heart
With me lili marlene, with me lili marlene
My lili of the lamplight, my own lili marlene

Too Late Marlene
Walking out of nowhere
And I let you in
Til my imagination, went for a spin
I seen you every night
Been making out since then
And still I wonder why everybodys saying
That ice is thin.
And I think I know you
Just a little bit by now
And I think I can show you
You see baby, I dont want to fight about it...
Send down your rain,
Then whos to blame?
And youll understand because its much too late to change.
Awaken to this hunger
And then watch my heat
Grow paler than the moonlight
That you made me eat
And if we run our lives
Along a one way street
Well always wonder why everytime -
It still tastes just as sweet
And I think I know you
Just a little bit by now
And I think I can show you
You see baby, I dont want to fight about it...
(chorus)
I will explain, (too late)
Were to much the same, (too late)
No I wont leave
Because its just too late marlene
-
You see baby, I dont want to fight about it...
(chorus)
I will explain, (too late)
Were to much the same, (too late)
No I wont leave
Because its just just too late marlene
Too late
Too late
Too late marlene
Too late
Too late
Too late marlene
Repeat..

Well, I did Marlene 15 years ago and that's in the style. It's somehow similar and not similar because Marlene was much more aggressive, funny and sad.

Micky Marlene
There was a man called Micky Marlene
Whose clothes were dirty though his hands were clean,
He said 'You'll never guess where I've been
Or the things I've done and the things I've seen
'I've walked this earth for many a year
And I've seen men's courage dissolve into fear,
I've laughed at their folly and not shed a tear
When I relaxed in the bar and swallowed my beer!
'I don't give a monkey for money or fame
And when it comes to sex I don't have any shame,
Religion is stupid and life's just a game -
There's no need for judgement 'cos no one's to blame!
'You may think me callous but I don't care;
If you're talking of suffering, well I've had my share,
I've been on my knees and uttered a prayer
But God is a figment - there's nobody there!
'So don't try to fool me with words of advice,
I've made my mistakes and I'm paying the price,
I know my intentions are not very nice,
Just mind your own business - I won't tell you twice! ! '
Those were the words of Micky Marlene
Whose clothes were dirty though his hands were clean,
A bit of an actor, he still must have been
The most lecherous man that I've ever seen.

The Letter
Dear Marlene………
Sweet heart of the dead
Adored by generations not yet born
Marlene we love you.
Your beauty burned the wings of JFK
And brought big John to his knees
For your love, was meant for more.
You shocked the World with a velvet kiss
An elegant truth in a sea of Fools
It took one voice to start a War,
One bullet to unite false prophets
One woman to speak out
You ostracized the Nazis for what they were.
Stood tall, through treason
Did not follow, Hitler’s Spell
Chose to Love America s freedom instead.
When Reapers scythe came
Song and Compassion was your shield.
It Gave comfort to the damned as shell and mortar pound
Your words a respite, from the fear
And your beauty, a reminder.
That love awaits the Soldiers return.
Back to the German farms and the English meadows
For love knows nothing of war.
You witnessed holy sacrilege,
Saw blind disciples fuel the reapers fire
Both sides, in the name of god,
Oh how heaven must have wept
Marlene you dared to question religion,
For Your soul could see through the flames,
While others perished in mortals Pride.
You Asked god to review his plan.
Only you, Marlene could do that
Where have all the flowers gone
Your message to Humanity,
But the Heinkel and the Spitfire
Flew too high to hear
And the flowers of youth
All Eaten by silent sheep, and taken to yet another slaughter.
Yet be proud Marlene
For Your echo awakened a new generation to peace,
Although lasting peace is like true love, so hard to find,
But never the less, a goal we devote our lives to.
Some countries have found their Peace
While other search.
Humanity is still a child in these matters,
And war still goes on
When will they ever, learn, when will they, ever learn.
Try to forgive us,
Perhaps the man upstairs,
Really does have another plan, Marlene Dietrich,
At least I’m sure that Eternity
Will be a far more beautiful and interesting place
With you in it,
And I look forward to meeting you.
Love Steven
