<div style="background:#fff;border:#bbb dashed 1px;padding:5px"><a href="http://en.citatepedia.ro/comments.php?id=515940" style="color:#000;text-decoration:none"><div style="margin:10px 0"><strong>Ode To A Sleepless Night</strong></div><div style="margin:10px 0">Svelte sunset beckons murky darkness, <br>And puts to bed another spangled day, <br>While heavens suspend in lavish turbulence, <br>Await seraphims with fireworks on their way.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Celestial bodies swing in silent purring cadence, <br>Float in mercurial spasms lit on ether, <br>Spheres make music vouch to never oscillate &move away, <br>As the nebulae serenade to each other.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Constellations dangle in garters & retire for the night, <br>Chant a rosary for a peace chained in denouncingweight<br>In stellar glory spin on spider’s thread to span a void, <br>Take the unknown road that only by the brave know not to avoid.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">With our nearest star eclipsed in a night’s blackout, <br>The star-studded Elysium, in a cosmic flash heave, <br>Shadows prowl on tip-toes in night’s stillness down below, <br>In their lingering light, say this is where dreams live.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Night arrives as a nymph nervous, seeking comfort, <br>In her nuptial dress sprinkled in bright star dust, <br>Where stars hang like pearls and fire-flies light, <br>And jewels flush in the dewlocks of the night.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Stars lift and fall with smooth undulations, <br>With each graceful sweep of her gown, <br>As night descends from the starry spiral staircase, <br>Out of the doorway of the moon.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Night returns reverie cut by the popping moon, <br>Throws her most treasured, resplendent, ornament, <br>Into comatose hours with her milky white brilliance, <br>Now together renders the stars redundant.</div><div style="margin:10px 0"><br>With her mind made up, moon peers in monocles, <br>While on her beams ride the thaw, <br>World lies woven in a shroud of sleep, <br>Chill air is hushed in awe.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Her frantic wanderings create an eternal spectale, <br>Scales the skies for a glimpse of her cherished one, <br>Pleads to her ethereal chums to come assist, <br>Begins a journey similar to mine.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Planets cross, higher destinies command, <br>Her lonely grace outshines that comfort numbers do not provide, <br>Some laughed in envy, as others behind the night veil slept, <br>With lanterns in their hands some join in her quest.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">From one horizon to the other, she spans the skies, <br>Ordained in amagnanimous vein the evening star flies, , <br> Heavens unsettled, a carnival of clouds rush in empathy<br>By her light, trees spread out to join in a cause lofty.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Lovers are thus lead through the night’s dread<br>As this retinue of heaven in a fleet, Their egos shed <br>Inquiring from one end of the skies to the other, they greet, <br>Yet tonight heaven is what I cannot reach.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Words hang like collateral pregnant with thought, <br>Deep longings jump to my lips besought, <br>Beyond that one wish that heaven must persist, <br>Like the moon disoriented, none can deign to exist.</div><div style="margin:10px 0"><br>In my heart tempests collide, <br>On shriveled wings blind bats glide, <br>A worthless emblem flaps his wings, <br>Owl screeches losing the unearthly hour’s bearings.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Moon hangs like a chandelier, past the witching hour, chandelier, <br>Moonlight powders the fields, searching, agonising at every pore, <br>Frost mutters incantations in the darkness, atone, <br>Despairing as final tears of the moon. </div><div style="margin:10px 0">Now with their journey complete, speak, <br>They bring message that the night kept you awake, <br>Turning, with a similar quest; the moon takes a halo, <br>Fragrant hours wilt, a night ‘s torment aglow.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">While all this is written and complied, <br>Dewy fingers draw dawn’s veil, a night has been unkind, <br>And an entire night’s sleep is missed, <br>And you are still on my mind.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">Heavens melt into flames, as sunrise creeps, <br>A cacophony of bird’s songs, drive away last dregs of sleep, <br>Morning brings my only reward, the distances agree, <br>That awake far away, you watch the sunrise with me.</div><div style="margin:10px 0">x-x-x<br>Seema.Joglekar.<br>3rd-Jan-20 10</div><div style="margin:10px 0"><br /></a><br />poem by <a href="http://en.citatepedia.ro/by.php?a=Seema+joglekar">Seema joglekar</a><div class=q>
