and respect<br>Mother and that uncle used to spend a lot time together<br>My grandparents kept me and my elder brother<br>Away from them <br>I carefully avoided talking about dad<br>As I watched my elder brother<br>Getting beaten up one day<br>When he was insisting that<br>He should be taken to dad<br>I was comfortable with the friendly uncle<br>Who visited us regularly<br>And with whom mom too was pleased<br>My elder brother showed some dissent<br>Whenever I talked good of uncle<br>He came invariably with excellent gifts<br>He never once missed to be with us<br>In all celebrations<br>Let that be festivals, birth days, anniversaries<br>He would be there<br>He would see to that my birth days<br>Get very well organized<br>And he would bring his friends too, male and female<br>All went fine till I passed school final<br>And was about to enter a professional college<br>I purchased the application form<br>And got stuck when I was to write my father's name<br>Mom told me to ignore<br>Managed to get me admitted<br>After a dialogue with the principal<br>But this issue got deep into me<br>And was determined to establish my parenthood<br>Every day I spent at least half an hour<br>Discussing with my grandparents and mother<br>And when I entered second year<br>I got a clue that the uncle who visited us regularly<br>Is my father<br>I was shocked to hear the story of my mom<br>And of her broken marriage, out of which<br>Was born my elder brother<br>I came to know that<br>My mother developed relationship with this uncle<br>And I was the result of this<br>Socially unapproved relationship<br>I started taking special interest with uncle<br>Who, by then, was a very powerful political leader<br>And had a large following<br>I was proudly reading news items about him<br>And was watching excitedly television clips where he figured<br>I did not know whether uncle noted the changes occurring in me<br>He might not have marked the struggle<br>I underwent while refraining from calling him dad<br>During this period<br>I happened to overhear mom talking to uncle<br>Requesting him to marry her formally as his wife died just then<br>I saw first time uncle getting wild with mom<br>And made harsh exchanges which all in the family heard<br>He walked off hurriedly even without bidding bye to me<br>After that his visits became less frequent<br>And later he practically stopped visiting<br>Once I went to his office<br>He gave me appointment<br>He behaved gently with same love and affection<br>I consciously did not talk about mom<br>I thought mom could meet him now<br>Told mom accordingly and that day<br>We all, mom, me, my elder brother, grandparents went to see him<br>He not only denied appointment<br>And came out to shout at us<br>Accusing mom of plotting against him<br>Choosing indecent expressions about her<br>Which her offspring would not tolerate<br>First time I hated him<br>And could make out that he only is my dad<br>I resolved at that very moment I would prove that<br>He only fathered me<br>And would make a judge of a court declared<br>We did not make attempts to meet him any more<br>I finished my graduation<br>Got a decent placement at the instance of my grandfather<br>When I became confident of meeting the financial implications<br>Of a law suit against uncle in establishing my parenthood<br>I began consulting lawyers<br>And I settled with a suit in a state level high court<br>Asking uncle to accede to my claim that<br>He is my father<br>He was powerful then and went to the extent of<br>Ridiculing me of a dutiful son<br>Who is fighting to save the face of a shameless mother<br>I appealed to the court<br>That uncle should undergo a deoxyribonucleic acid test<br>As compared against mine<br>So that his biological contribution towards my birth<br>Can be scientifically established or rejected<br>During this time uncle lost his political position<br>As he had to face a very damaging allegation<br>The court ordered him to undergo the test<br>After repeated notices from the court<br>His blood sample was collected <br>Experiments were conducted<br>Deoxyribonucleic acid findings<br>Indicate that he is
